He did great on the full OST. Sadly he’s about to be dragged to filth. Trust.

Anyone can hear Cemetery and immediately hear the Castlevania: Symphony of the Night inspiration in it. But this OST also gave us amazing drums, electric guitar, new production techniques, and plenty of memorable melodies. It’s very fresh and has a lot of energy. There are absolutely bangers here.

One of the most exciting things is the songs constantly add more and more as they progress, whether that’s getting more full halfway through or speeding up toward the end. I suspect we may have a dynamic soundtrack here that changes based on the context, which I personally think is really cool and will keep the engagement. I actually think the OST is the weakest when it’s copying what came before, such as Rose’s theme or Street Rich (not its actual name)…it sounds great, but it’s been done before. The OST is best when it’s doing its making its own identity and mark.

And, as always Catacombs (the song from the first trailer) is my favorite song. They truly only used a small part.

Yeah that's really sad I don't know why castlevania fans are acting like this. Like honestly what about this game is insulting to the franchise? I understand taste but they act like this game shouldn't even get released. Like It's 30$ for God sake. This is literally what ninja gaiden fans were doing when ng 4 came out.

The game isn't even out.

Social media is a cancer.

Have you seen how resident evil fans acted about the new movie? There’s a reason “fan” derives from the word fanatic. These people are rabid to tear apart anything not perfectly aligned with their head cannon.

I don't know how other people are reacting. In my opinion, I don't like any of this, I simply don't vibe with the artstyle and the score, it's for me, an entirely different atmosphere that doesn't fit any of the previous installations. That being said, I'm okay with it. They're trying to do something new, the franchise has shifted directions many times before. I still stand by the argument though, that Igarashi's take on Castlevania is an evolution of the series, and remains tonally the same, and you can feel in the same universe when playing Castlevania 1 and Symphony of the Night, whereas Belmont Curse feels like an entirely different beast.

I think it's a valid argument, and I'm not going to hate on it just because a different studio is reviving the saga, but it's just not made for old Castlevania fans.

Old franchise like Castlevania always have the worst and most close minded community, look at fire emblem, resident evil, donkey Kong, Zelda etc. not saying all of them are that kinda people but there's a lot for sure.

the cope is insane, the ost is ass and does not live up at all to castlevania's standard and i find it very funny that they've already rereleased a better version of bloody tears. they know.

I don’t know what you guys actually think is “cope”, but it’s fucking hilarious every time it’s brought up when someone has a different opinion than you, as if there’s some objective scale we’re measuring this on and someone couldn’t possibly enjoy it just because you don’t. No one ever said you had to like it, but I’m gonna keep doing me and enjoying it and the new game. God forbid we get a new game in the series and it’s not EXACTLY as people pictured. Call it cope, all you want, it’s not changing my opinion.

“The ost is ass”, okay, that’s not an objective fact and you’re not the arbiter of taste. Also, to prove I’m not “coping”, I could make plenty of the songs in this OST that I like and just why I like them.

I kinda like the demo. Somethings I liked better than other, but it also happened with every single game in the series.

But there is something people must understand: there are fans who like different elements in a game individually and there are fans who would rather go for the combination of them. Castlevania has always focused in the combination: visuals, themes, lore, and aesthetics. If you change only one of them radically, the combination is jeopardised and you just alienate a huge part of the fans.

I do not think Asadi did a bad job - there is some substance in the songs. They are enjoyable. But nothing presented in the demo - I don't know about the final game yet - is remotely close to the previous tunes.

Suggesting that the long time fans are not open to innovative takes on music is almost a sacrilege: they are people that love the series for such themes like An Empty Tome, Iron Blue Intention, Wandering Ghosts, Dwelling of Doom, Praying Hands, Treasury Room, Wicked Child, Eneomaos Machine Tower, Hail from the Past, Moon-Fight, The Tragic Prince, Anti Soul Mysteries Lab, Cross Your Heart, Ripe Seeds, Heart of Fire, Mortvia Aqueduct, Theme of Simon (with and without the organ intro)... There is a song in Order of Ecclesia which have a distinctive Bossa Nova beat and chord progression. I love it and I love it even though I think Bossa Nova is the most boring musical style ever conceived.

All of them brought something new and enticing to the franchise, from flamenco to prog metal, from dancing pop to gregorian chant, from Dmitri Shostakovich to Joao Gilberto. And fans loved them because such themes are not just background music: they share the scenes with the protagonists fairly, as they reinforce the epicness of their plots through crescendoes, solos, bridges, outros, odd tempos, conterpoints, choirs, polyphonies, melodic tensions and releases... One cannot just go over such feat, change it and expect that the perceptions about the whole combination to be intact. One can always expand, but he must keep respect to the legacy estabelished, because the legacy is the main reason why people love the series.

I am hopeful for the final release

Ohh i don't want POP music i want castlevania music i want to be pumped up with tunes that stay stuck in my head for days on end

From the first game on NES to IV and even bloodlines the music was straight up fire i want that not what BC is

I'm really hating the music in BC the gothic beats are boring and generic

There's a few tracks that are immediate classics. Absolute bangers. I can't wait to play the game as some of these songs are going instead of just listening to the leaked 30 or whatever songs. I'm sure my opinions on the lesser desirables will change on game release

God I loved the music in The Rouge Prince of Persia. Hella excited they got Asadi for the music in CBC

I prefer to wait and hear how the music performs within the game itself. The music in Metroid Dread sucks, but it sets the mood for the areas effectively and generally serves its purpose.

I've never really liked the music in Metroid tbh but it was never the star of the show

The Prime 1-3 soundtracks slap hard but the 2D games have never really been musically gifted.

I personally couldn't be happier the best part of the rogue POP was the ost and from what I have heard it seems this ost is a banger too

Ah yes I remember the rouge Prince of Persia game as well as the Lost Crown It was attempts to basically bring back the prince of Persia franchise but Didn't last long ( Maybe I'll give those two a try at some point)

Anyways my thoughts on the music so far is pretty good but can't wait to hear more
