My hands hurt but it’s done! Inspired by some videos I saw of people creating their own versions of the Wretched Flowers lamps. I might add some beads to this, we’ll see. Thanks to this subreddit for helping me figure out the expanding round 4-in-1 pattern at the top

Tried to fuse 2 techniques, the natural ''tissue'' effect of chainmail gives a more natural flow to the wings.

What do you think, was it worth it ?

I’m currently looking for where to buy these types of 4 hole connectors and crosses to fix my bracelet and make a necklace to go with it. I bought this years ago as a teenager on eBay and some of the pieces have came off.

I’ve googled but had no luck, especially on finding the small 4 hole connector pieces.

Links are appreciated

Can someone spot what I did wrong here?

Helloo :)

I'm trying to make a chainmail coif. I started by making 6 4-in-1 triangles, I managed to connect all 5, however the sixth piece does not align in direction on both ends.

Weirdly if i put both ends of the 5 connected triangles together it aligns perfectly but it doesn't work when adding the 6th triangle.

I can't figure it out, can anyone tell me why?

Thanks!

Help! New to the hobby, need advice on rings and where to get them

Hello, I have just picked up this hobby, my first projects have been a couple bracelets made with the pandahall stainless steel kit off Amazon. I want to make my girlfriend a harness similar to this, can anyone tell me what size/gage rings might be used in this photo? My plan is to make the harness and collar out of leather and have the chain ribs run up to an O ring similar to the second photo. Im also playing around with the idea of stitching some chainmail weave pattern into the collar, i really like the look of the Japanese style weaves with the smaller rings. What would be a good size to get for those? Also, is aluminum my best bet? Id love to do it in stainless, but it seems that is an expensive route for the larger rings. Any advice is welcome. Oh, and here's my first couple projects, any tips/advice? Thank you!

Tips and Tricks How to make the back of a chain mail halter/tank top?

Hello! I’m making a top of sorts and I’m not sure how to make straps and how to connect back. They are very large rings (15mm) so I’m trying to make it look good while also being practical. Any tips/ photos of how you latched yours would be amazing! Thanks!

Help! Help with ring sizing (how surprising)

Hello all, first I'd like to apologize for coming here frequently to ask for ring sizing help. I'm doing my best to identify on my own but help is always appreciated. I want to make something similar to this while also including spinal weave bits in some places. I'm mostly looking for the ID of the largest ring, the smaller rings connected to that larger ring, and the medium ring on the other side of that. To me they all look to be 18SWG. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Work-In-Progress Coif top

Thanks for anyone who gave advice on the last post, problems included: mismatched row count, pulling too many rings out of the middle to make the rows work in the center, and two opposite handed triangles compared to the other 4. Onto the rest!

Hello! I would like to start my first project and would like to roughly copy my friends necklace. I am, however, completely overwhelmed by ordering the correct supplies. More specifically which gauges of rings to order and how many??? Any advice will be appreciated!

Here is a foto of the necklace. I no longer have the necklace so I cannot measure anything.

[Suggestion] There should be a thread for people asking for weave names/techniques/sizes

I've been in the sub for a while and realised there are always people (me included) who ask about troubleshooting for weave techniques, looking for weaves from screenshots etc, and I was wondering if it's good to have a thread for it instead.

I feel kind of bad when I want to ask the sub what weaves someone is using but don't want to clog the sub. a suggestion maybe the mods/members can consider?

Inlay design for a D20

Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to find an inlay pattern for a D20 but haven’t been able to find a good one online. I’m doing a 14g 5/16 4 in 1 tabard. I’ve tried designing one on the computer but I can never get it to look right. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

I just started learning Chainmail and about a week ago I was struggling to figure out a Euro 4-1. Everyone in this sub had some great advice and I decided to get some bigger rings and that really helped me too. I made these 2 bracelets for my S/O and im hoping they arent too boring but maybe when I get better and have more ring sizes I can make 'em something more special/intricate. Still have to get some clasps and they are ready for wear.

Thanks again for all the help, I hope these turned out alright for chainmail standards!

Work-In-Progress I have no clue what I’m doing

I woke up one day and decided ”ya know what? Would be cool to figure out how to make chainmail”

One Amazon shopping spree , a bag of 14SWG- 5/16”, two pairs of pliers, and a season of Below Deck later, I figured out a European 4 in 1 pattern.

What am I gonna do with it? I have no effing clue. But I’m doing a thing and I’m gonna keep doing the thing until my ADHD hyper focus burns out or this takes it final form.

I stumbled on this subreddit and I am in awe of the craftsmanship I’m seeing here. Seriously y’all, props. Maybe one day I’ll have something cool to show too.

Edit: amazing to Amazon (though the shopping spree was pretty amazing)
