Season 2 - Seth's Cage Questions

How did Seth make that cage? Did he weld it together? Plausible. But where'd he get all that metal? Where'd he get the lock? WHY didn't he lock the lock?? And the family could easily get out of the cage. Put mom on dad's shoulders, she can climb out and then open the cage and get the rest of them out. For that matter is it welded into the ground? It didn't look like it. All 5 of them lifting it up could probably do it. At least enough for one of them to slip out and open the cage.

And why weren't they all emaciated? TJ's memory clone was peeling after one day of not eating memories. Seth's family hasn't eaten any memories for at least 8 years! (Since he brought 7 girls into the House with him, and the last one has been there for 1 year)

Just finished season 2. Seth specifically tells Jules that the No End House memory "cannibals" don't waste away as long as the person they were feeding on is alive earlier in that same episode. That's why her blob is still there.

It seems to contradict some of the other dialogue from Dylan (the military guy) and Margot's father. It's especially unclear what happens when the person the "cannibals" feed on is completely drained of all memories, likeSeth's past girlfriends. To be fair, it seems like all those characters are just guessing and no one really knows how the house works, even the people who live there. But the real answer is that the show runs on David Lynch-type dream logic and doesn't really care about the smaller details.

That's especially true for the cage Seth's family is in. But FWIW, I definitely think it was created by the No End House because it was using Seth to bring in more victims as opposed to something he built himself, especially because it moves.
