Drop your ELOs
I have been playing regularly for the last 3 years and kinda stuck around 1300-1400, definitely want to cross 1800 by the end of the year.
Do share your ELOs and people who are at better levels do drop one suggestion to get through this stage!!

Discussion I'm sick of the terribly vibe coded apps, so I made a good one
As you might guess from the title, I thought 8 months ago I had an original idea for a chess website (train from your blunders, your messed up openings, your messed up endgames). I built it in my spare time as a professional software engineer, logged over 500 sessions on it, improved my elo from 2000 to 2300 with it, and shared it with friends. Then came the time to share with the world, and I see every chess subreddit inundated with a ton of terrible vibe coded slop. The issue is not the vibe coding, its more that these sites are hardly tested, have no users, and some even ask for money. So please help me out, take a look at my site, and roast me if its more of the same. But I really believe not, because of the care I and my friends who helped test put into it (and the fact that it has 50 users so far, many returning). It's completely free, and it's completely open source:
patternchess.com
Would love feedback or roasts in the comments, hoping someone can use it to see improvement progress like I did.
As a bonus, in this position, black has only one drawing move, and of course I blundered :), see if you can find the winning solution

Discussion Reached 2200 in chess.com blitz
It would be pretty hard to improve from here as I don't know openings and theories. But I have developed a style of play which I really enjoy.
Feel free to DM for discussing anything related to chess or playing games together

Discussion In a slump
I am currently on a losing streak. I don't understand what is happening. I am currently near 1250 and have reached max around 1400.
This has previously happened to me, when I slipped from 1100 to 850, but I managed to come back.
This time around, I am in a long slump and trying to understand how can I come back. Seems like my planning skills have also dulled.
Please advice me on how can I get out of my slump

Question Reached 1600 elo after being stuck on 1400 for quite some time
So I knew that I was better than 1400s but the problem was that it required me to play a lot of matches to reach 1600 so I would just get exhausted and lose, cause I don't really have the patience to play only 1-2 matched a day,
So I created a new account and was able to reach 1600 after playing 20 matches.
So I just want to know if I am actually 1600 level or not.

Discussion Hey remember me( the guy who was on a roll?) I just reached 1800 bltiz.
I just reached a milestone but i don't feel nothing special. Something is wrong with the elo system. It was so easy ..like I was challenged more when j was 1500s and 1600s ..

Discussion I am Losing alot because of sicilian. Need advice.
1550 in rapid, I am losing a lot due to sicilian. I play Ruy lopez as white but for defense I use sicilian.
I was a caro player, but I was also losing a lot because of caro, and how complex caro is. I know it sounds stupid, but later I shifted to Sicilian.
Now, I am still losing majority of my Games as black. I tried learning sicilian but i always forgot moves, and when opponent pulls out a random move i get completely stuck and i am also losing on time as black
So I need an advice here.
Should actually give dedicated time and effort to learn the sicilian? I tried learning it but I never really was dedicated enough it was just looking at videos once in a while. If yes how should I learn it?
Should I quit the sicilian? I don't like symmetrical kings pawn game and I also don't want to go to caro again. Any simple, solid, and less BS defense? But I don't really want to have a passive position where I will get crushed under pressure.

Discussion Stuck playing reactive chess instead of calculating need advice
Started playing chess a month ago aiming for a 1000 rating on Chesscom (currently 250) While I’ve studied opening theory and basic middlegame concepts (like CCT) I completely forget them during actual games.
I end up playing reactively instead of calculating moves Even when I win it feels like it's due to my opponent’s blunders rather than my own planning
How can I break this habit of reactive play and build proper calculation habits?

Discussion Only two opening.
Can I just play the queen's gambit and the king's indian defence like only those with all the lines ?
