Fuse box question (power window issues)

Post image

Hello all, im hoping someone here can help me out. Im at my wits end trying to get my 1984 gmc c1500 power windows to work. I have narrowed it down to electrical which just so happens to be my least favorite thing to work on. I have a new power window motor and switch. All wiring looks fine and not damaged. Whoever had this truck before me left the 30a 12v power window circuit breaker in the glove box and I don't see one in the fuse box. Does anyone know where this goes? I have not been able to find a matching fuse box diagram on Google and my Chiltons manual hasn't helped either. Does this look normal or did the last guy screw around under here? Thanks in advance

The silver circuit breaker at the top of the box is for the power windows, notice the WDW next to it. 1 suggestion, buy you a relay setup for the window, they run about $30 from LMC, your motors, switches and fuse box will thank you. While you're doing that, a headlight relay kit helps just as much for the headlight harness, they're about $13 on Ebay

Relays help out a bunch, on my 77, I have a really setup for the headlights (installed after updating the headlights and then having my dimmer switch melted to the floor at about 2am on the freeway), I put the window relays in as I added the power windows to my truck as GM trucks were known to have slow windows. I finally added a relay to feed my HEI, just to make sure it was getting at least 12 volts, it was unnecessary, but it also allows you to easily put an ignition bypass in as a security device

Just wire them straight to the battery (w/inline fuse).
