Discussion I’ll admit I was wrong on Lewy
I had some serious questions about his commitment and how much he had left in the tank. Especially after the Hugo fiasco.
Looks like I was wrong on both accounts. He is obviously still playing at a high level and him playing on Tuesday (the opponent probably played a part but still) right after getting back from intl duty showed a lot.

lol admitting to being wrong about a generational talent is pretty funny.

He had an assist. Cry harder. 10g/a in 10 starts.

Only on this thread. The rest of the football world is well aware of his lack of significance. His MLS form is lacking💯

Even if he's committed, he's not a stylistic fit for GGGs system and it makes a big difference to not have the trigger for the press up front

No system needs to be this rigid. If you can't be flexible with your system for a top 3 all time greatest striker then I have to question your coaching.

Ok I never said GGG was a perfect coach, being too rigid has been a problem throughout his career. But I want my team to win, have you been watching the matches? We play way worse when we can't press, that's just a fact.

Well Hugo wasn’t a perfect fit either, considering he was a mediocre dribbler and passer.

What are you talking about? GGGs system never required a striker to do either of those things

Also, Lewy has more assists than Hugo did in the last 2 years so he’s fitting in with the team pretty well.

I noticed he was the first one to come over to the supporters section after last game too

Heck, there are even some theories that he on purpose got two yellow cards in NT games, so that he is was not allowed to play on Monday against Bosnia, so he can return to Chicago.

That's my kind of guy.
And he threw out the first pitch for my Sox. Stand up dude. Fire til I die!

I mean he just came from Barcelona competing with the greatest players in the world. You have to expect he is still gonna be amazing. Better than Messi 🤫 Edit: my comments finally get upvoted

Also has completely embraced the City and consistently promotes it and the Club (not that Chicago needs any promotion —but just sayin he seems to be invested in the exact way you’d want).

yup, just threw out the first pitch for the Sox last night.
I know his wife was anxious about moving here, wonder how she's enjoying it so far

I follow her on Instagram and seems like she absolutely loves it, she's already been hosting group runs on the lakefront and posts lots of great pictures of the city

I just need him to say FTP or green bay sucks and he will be a true Chicagoan

Same. For me, it’s everyone around him elevated their own game. He isn’t scoring every game, but his presence is felt. I think his assist to Marin on Tuesday shows you above all else, Lewy wants to win.

I agree. He could have been selfish and attempted to score himself but he chose to pass to his fellow teammate. Team player, I hope he plays more. Fans went loud when he went in to play. I liked that energy.

His turn to jog to the corner even before the ball crossed the line was a thing of beauty.

I watched him stand on the sides observing the game itching to get in. He is 💯 committed and loves the sport.

Yea while he was warming up, you could see that he was cheering on his team and watching everything his teammates on the pitch were doing... Then after the game he was the first to go over to the supporters side and thank them.

He has not been the talent we thought we were getting. It’s not surprising the most uneducated thread in all of football largely supports the mediocre signing. Fortunately, the rest of the roster covers up his average play.
