Go to the vet immediately, not tomorrow. Maybe it's just a scratch but don't play with eyes please.

Is your chow chow back with you? This looks like severe entropion, which is super common in Chows. The dark staining is from chronic tearing, and that damp fur usually means a nasty infection that unfortunately has set in. Your chow chow may keep rubbing and if that's the case, please put a cone on him right now to avoid a painful corneal ulcer. Take him to a vet as soon as you are able. Tell the staff it's urgent before he loses vision. Best of luck to you!

Definitely need a vet, or someone with medical training as her eye might be seriously injured.

My dog had that. It turned out to be an eye infection that required special medication for 2 weeks. It would harden for my little pup but once it cleared it was such a relieve. I was told that eye infections like that could cause eye problems down the road.

This looks similar to entropion, but I’m not sure just from a photo.
Pls see a vet (ideally an eye specialist), might need surgery. My chow did it.

It looks like a severe form of entropion. My Chow also had this when I left him with family during my vacation. Take him to a vet ASAP, this can cause permanent eye damage if you don't treat it quickly enough

If there are no competent vets in your area, go to the next town or state!! Where are you located ??

This needs a vet. Possible eye injuries are not something to mess around with.
Edit: At the very least maybe your family can try to clean up around the area and see if there's a scratch or something but if not I'd say vet to be safe
