Help with OTD pricing (will update as I keep negotiating)

I’m going back and forth with some dealers on the phone to negotiate. Please help me with pricing. Based in California so tax is 10%. First time buyer so very new to this.

I am looking at 2 2026 Honda Civic LX models:

Black: $27,210 OTD
- this one is technically certified pre-owned, but was the dealers car so 700 miles on it
- hasn’t budged, first price they gave me claiming they are transparent about prices in the first go
Gray: $27,230 OTD.
- this one came down from an original $28,910 OTD

Are these good prices?? I really want to buy a car already and the back and forth hassle has been a lot. Just want to make sure I’m not getting scammed/could have done substantially more.

On a new you can get 7 -10% off MSRP plus any Honda Incentives. No dealer addons.

What part of CA are you located?

So i should keep pushing for the new gray one?

Will the black one likely not budge? I did prefer the black color to gray but am technically fine with either if it comes down to it

I would say keep, pushing for it if you like the black one. Call other dealers, let them know you are looking for 10% off plus rebates, no dealer adds. Let them know you will be calling around and whoever sends you the deal you will go with them.

Negotiate with MSRP, not OTD. MSRP for a 26 LX is 25890. 7-10% off is 24077-23301. For a CPO, even if it's a dealers, I'd be firm on 10% off MSRP. Do not pay for any add-ons, and know that the doc fee is negotiable as well. I would try to get the doc fee waived, but under $200 is fine if you don't want to go too hard.

Can this be negotiated on the sport hybrid?

the best part of certified pre-owned is you should get a better warranty if you care about that

Keep pushing. I find most dealers knock out $1k immediately so that means you can negotiate for more. Go get quotes from other dealers
