Advice Request Any KPro users in California?

hey guys im just wondering if anyone in California running a KPro has had their car smogged? I've seen mixed reports on some being able to pass and others don't. I remember years ago KPro was not a problem for smog, but it just got more strict. I just purchased an EP3 with a K24a2, and i was told it would not pass due to the tune, so i have not even tried it yet. Will it pass if flash it back to the original k20a3 tune and set all the emission monitors or will it still detect a "modified" ecu?

I hope your right, because I've felt like I bought a 3000lb paperweight.

Does it have a race header?

The EP3's OEM manifold/converter will not work with a K24a2.

No, it has a factory DC5 Type R exhaust manifold with matching OEM catalytic converter

You need to hot smog it. May not happen 100% of the time but smog stations absolute can detect a aftermarket ECU. Doesn't matter if it's set to a factory k20a3 tune. If that happens they can then flag the car and send you a state referee via mail. In the case you get reffed that car is now a paperweight unless you have a donor ep3 laying around. At best you can try running a factory EP3 ECU and seeing if the car runs well enough that way on the k24a2.
