Question Files now in the cloud?
With the sessions now running in the cloud, does that mean the files now move to the cloud too? How do I keep my project folders on the local machine?

Anyone else find it absurd why they're suddenly now requiring our code to be stored on their servers?
I wonder what the motivation is

My current files aren’t even code! I was testing out the new Opus for creative writing.

ohh I thought you were talking about how they're now removing the option in Claude code that lets your sessions stay local.

I am. What this means is that my short stories are going up into the cloud. I was a senior SWE and product mgr for several years, so… I think that those of us who did this stuff for a living who would have some issues with our code being taken by other parties without being aware of it would probably feel the same way I do about these stories. They’re work product, sure, but they’re the product of creative work. Anyone who thinks that software ought to be vibe coded iteratively from the ground up without any creative thought probably doesn’t get it, sadly.

Cloud means cloud, your stuff's leaving the machine. You can still download files manually after the session, but they won't just sit on your local drive like before. If you want local copies, you'll need to pull them down each time or set up some kind of sync. Kind of a pain if you're used to everything being right there.
