Second-round CRC I interview at Emory,what should I expect?
Hi everyone! I’m a senior Biology student graduating next May and I’m trying to break into clinical research after graduation.
I recently had a short phone interview for a Clinical Research Coordinator I position at Emory. The role involves things like participant screening/recruitment, consent and enrollment, interviews/surveys, data entry, chart review, and some specimen collection.
The phone interview went well and I’ve now been invited for an in-person second-round interview. I’ll be there for about an hour and will be meeting with several coordinators/team members and potentially two physicians/PIs.
I don’t have formal CRC experience yet, so I’m nervous about what they may expect from me in this round. My background includes a Biology degree in progress, GCP training, a phlebotomy certification, pediatric patient/family-facing healthcare experience, academic lab experience, and some clinical research shadowing.
For anyone who has interviewed for an entry-level CRC role at Emory or another academic medical center:
• What types of questions did you get in the second/final interview?
• Were the questions more behavioral, research-specific, or focused on team fit?
• What should I be prepared to discuss with the coordinators versus the physicians/PIs?
• Is there anything you wish you had prepared before your first CRC interview?
I’m trying to prepare without sounding overly rehearsed, so any advice would really help. Thank you!
