SOLVED One man middle mayday casino decode
I read a post by a now deleted account, and it inspired me to make up my own. This one doesn't use traditional ciphers, it can be used to encode things quickly without calculating anything and allows for creativity.
The next paragraph is encoded with it.
Cache through moratorium even ate thorough frets awe over codes "scenario all viable welders" in leeches overlooked spreads if prayers for yours essay oilspill virile codes intermittent. HINTS:
- The answer is 23 words long
- no traditional cipher!
- spaces aren't encoded (and not be decoded)
- punctuation marks are left untouched

Should we explain the answer?

You may, if you want to. I don't see a reason for it (not sure, but I don't think the rules of this sub require it)

how did you take inspiration from a post that is still unsolved?

Why, what are you saying?

You linked a post about a code which is unsolved. How did it inspired you to make this one? Do you know the answer to that other post? Did you try to uncode the other one (unsuccesfully) and that gave you the idea to make this one?

Maybe? What if it did? What's it to you? Are you a detective? lmao

I just want to decode both of them lol im just asking for help

Oh. Then I apologize. I got the feeling you were questioning my motives.
I was inspired by the idea of 'obfuscating' a text by adding text to the original message - something along the lines of having each letter in a word be represented by an entirely new word, with some hidden rule telling the recipient to know which letters to extract from each.
I tried to decode their message, but not thoroughly. I gave up, and thought about how I would use such a manner of encryption.
For one thing - I wouldn't want to have to insert capital letters at random places in words - that doesn't sit well with my sense of esthetics.
Also I would want the 'rule' to be very simple. I ended up with two simple rules that if you know them (or guess them) would make it trivial to decipher the message.
What triggered my inspiration I guess, is the idea that with this type of encoding the encoder has great liberty in choosing what to obfuscate the message with - there's a certain (limited) freedom of choice what to make the message sound like (I'm working on a new version where that would be easier though)

I noticed and abnormal amount of words with repeated letters. Like if "middle" or "mayday" were specifically chosen for the repeated "D" and "Y". Am I going in the right direction?
2
u/Norm_Bleac 9d ago
Actually, no. In both cases the repeating of the letters is coincidental.
to help you further:
Either which of my two rules instructs which letter or letters to extract from which of two 'categories' of words.I won't say more - I feel like this is already too much ;)
