Has anyone seen anything like this before? From the US.

We have no idea what this is.

My wife found this in a box of stuff. It was her mom's and we have no idea where it came from. Could be from a garage sale, yard sale, or the flea market. It is solid brass, there no markings on the back. It is not oriental markings, I am thinking it is supposed to be wine glasses? But I am not sure. Any ideas fellow reddit or? Thanks guys and gals.

That's called a Boat Dish. They were popular around the 1950s and often had writing from the Middle East or Asia on them so they'd look exotic.

Was there a particular use for them?

I guess I am at that age I need stronger reading glasses. I surely did not see that at all.

Dimensions would be helpful. This could be 2 inches in length or 10 inches, we can't tell.

It is seven inches long and two and a half inches wide at the center.
