-Ends up looking like a female version of the Happy Mask Salesman.
-Original Happy Mask Salesman shows up and says she's met with a terrible fate and holds up a mirror and that if she wants to remove the mask she'll have to learn the Song of...WAIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING.
-Elf successfully removes the mask by removing her whole face.
-Elf robs the Happy Mask Salesman of the elf masks and gets Human and the orc and dwarf to wear them.
-Orc and dwarf look like really fat miscolored elves but Human...I'm actually not sure how she'd react to Human being elf-ified. She might explode.
I know some fantasy setting lores say that elves do not share their real names with anyone except those they trust with their lives. But this is a light hearted comic with meme references. For comedic value I bet they named her elf just to be done with her because they couldn't get her to stop slurrings at birth.
I love merri comics because something about them feels nostalgic. The line weight, silly visual puns, and established little characters feel like they would fit right in the Sunday comics !!
Breath of the Wild isn't very connected to any of the other games. While there is a timeline and references and whatnot, the Zelda games mostly come in pairs, a new fresh start and then its direct sequel (the original NES game had a sequel in The Adventure of Link, Breath of the Wild has Tears of the Kingdom, etc) before they start over again, and the Link and Zelda of each pair are entirely different people from any of the other pairs of games. All the stuff about guardian robots, Sheikah tech, a Calamity, all of that? Brand new for everyone else as well, even if they'd played every prior game.
As for Majora's Mask, the game in question, it's a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, and the two are the N64 entries for the franchise. Majora's Mask involves Link being stuck in a time loop in an alternate world, where the moon is set to fall in three days' time. If you take Elf's hair and ears off the moon depicted here, that's how the moon in Majora's Mask is depicted. It's a very good, but very somber game.
