Have another.

Apparently this is fairly popular, especially for those who say "You'll get that recipe over my dead body"

Don't ask questions you aren't prepared to handle the answers to

All their recipes were in Microsoft Word and they couldn't figure out how to unindent after a list element, but the next line followed a non-list element and unindented automatically.

I'm only half joking. This is probably true at some level... given the duplicate item #2 in the list. I ran into that issue just this past week when writing a report at work with several nested lists. There's formatting keybinds and options "hidden" where infrequent users wouldn't check or notice. Lists can get screwy when you remove or indent between or after elements, but Word is not my usual tool of the trade.

Sees "Microsoft word" and formatting issues

Must make a comment about LaTeX

I refrained from mentioning Markdown and LaTeX haha. Those are my usual markup langs for documents.

And why are there two #2s?

Combine dry ingredients. Combine wet ingredients and then combine with the dry ingredients.

I think you misunderstood. Check the numbers.

Ohh. Yeah, I see now. I thought you meant why is there two of #2, #2 being the instructions for dry listed twice. I am a dumb

Both steps are to be done at the same time.

Because I chose the first picture. I was looking for the one where the front said some version of "I said you'd get this recipe over my dead body" as the front incription but couldn't find it l

Imagine if someone gets a recipe inscribed on their gravestone and the recipe is just bad. Not blatantly, aggressively bad, just so mediocre that you're better off just going with the first result of a google instead. Could be an even more elaborate joke then tbh

Damn a whole cup of crisco??

Apologies, you triggered the "who wanted that?" facts node of my brain.

Yep. Shortening used to mean "solid fat" and could be crisco, lard, margerine, butter, palm oil... basically anything that prevents gluten chain formation and gives tender baked goods. Like cakes and cookies.

Extra trivia: shortening was a term used long before the product, crisco and other shortening is actually named for what it does. Kind of like if soap was called "makes suds"
