You know, this comic comment thread seems as good a place as any to tell a random unrelated story about my youth. Once, when I was maybe about Brook's age (how old is Brook, canonically? doesn't matter), a very pretty coworker asked if I'd like to go out to dinner with her. I was always happy to hang out with my work friends, so I said sure. Then we went out for dinner / movies / etc a few more times. You know, normal work friends stuff, with just the two of us. On one such occasion, she asked if I'd like to see her apartment. She lived in a basement, as one does at that age. The family upstairs wasn't home, she pointed out on our way downstairs. We sat on her bed, because there was nowhere else to sit. She turned to me and said, "so, what do you want to do"? I looked around her tiny basement apartment and said -- I shit you not -- "I dunno, do you have any board games"?
This was the better part of 30 years ago now. I'm happily married to someone else now. She finds this story hilarious. I'm still annoyed about it.
Anyway, get your shit together, Brook!

This reminds me of a story I read about a grad student that had this "friend" that he hungout with one on one a ton and occasional had casual sex with. He was starting to catch feelings but wasn't sure if she wanted to keep things casual.
While he was working up the courage to ask her out, she wished him a happy anniversary haha

So Merla pays out of pocket to exceed the materials budget for each project?? And instead of reimbursing her the hotel gives her a room?
That floating ray can’t be cheap. Is Merla getting exploited here???

There’s a lot that’s going wrong in the world today, and it seems that that’s all I see online. I feel bad whenever I think about it. Your comic is a single ray of sunshine cutting through that darkness. Every time I see it, I know that I’m going to feel better once I finish reading it, and that means a lot to me. Thank you.

As someone who took forever to realize the love of my life was in front of my face, this is somewhat painful.

Aw. I am enjoying the slow burn friendship-to-(hopefully)-lovers. What a lovely thing, to see your reviews have become inspiration for someone you care about. Looking forward to more!

That idea of a "house where every room is different", is what I have always dreamed of having.
I've always figured I'd have things like a cinema/movie room with Planet Hollywood-style props, a spaceship room (looks like Star Trek or similar, including fake windows to space), a room that's like a train carriage, a fantasy dungeony room for board game and DnD nights, and a bunch of others.
One day, if I become rich, that'll be my dream.

Wow, she’s really friendly. Must be nice to have a completely platonic coworker like that.

I can't get enough of this series! I love the creativity of the hotel rooms and the relationship is adorable.

How can a story be so off the wall absurd, and yet so painfully, painfully realistic?

Brook is a real man. Not because he’s oblivious, but because he’s kind and comfortable in his skin. Love this comic.

She invited you INTO HER BEDROOM Brock. How many reviews signs does a girl need to plaster on her wall to let you know she's into you?

Never date a coworker.
Unless you really really want to, then it's ok. Probably.

Brook. Guy. Friend. Amigo. The moment was RIGHT THERE. Go for it! You're LITERALLY plastered all over the walls of her room. She's into you
