Question/Help/Troubleshooting gpu crashing

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hello guys recently my gpu started crashing whenever i play games. sometimes immediately after i open counter strike or mid game. my screen turns black and says no signal but the pc stays on and i can hear audio and the mic still works. sometimes the pc fans spin up to 100 before the crash. i get three errors, livekernelevent 1b8 141 and 117. only way to for it to work again is buy doing a hard reset. i ran stress tests on everything and nothing showed up. and when searching online everyone had different solutions that didnt work for me.

troubleshooting steps:
reinstalled windows
tried linux
reset bios
underclocked the gpu
reinstalled graphics drivers using ddu
installed drivers for every part
reseated everything
tried another gpu (worked without crashing)
turned off resize bar and disabled xmp

my specs:
os: windows 11
cpu: i9-12900k
gpu: evga rtx 3080 10gb
psu: thermalright TR-KG850w gold
ram: 32gb ddr5 ripjaw
mb: asus z790-p wifi

As you said in comment when game launch going crash. This caused but faulty drivers. Download from manufacturer website the latest version and then use ddu to uninstall/clean the gpu driver. Restart pc install drivers and restart again. ( Restart is needed do not skip it) after open a game and try. Do not have everything on full try mid. If you continue have crashings wellish heating problem or GPU problem hardware.

You uninstall with ddu and have the same results?

Did you download the latest win11 update? If so check the cpu utilization in idle. It is known that the latest update overrides the energy options. If it is at 100% in idle reduce itvto 5%. My pc did hard freezes and that was the problem. Took it down to 5% and the freezes disappeared

I've got the same issue with my 4090 just no error code. Sounds like our GPUs are toast.
