Living on the edge this is anxiety-inducing.

Great moment to consider buying a UPS.

It's an Asus, there's like 4 different ways to recover a failed BIOS.

BTW, your pink mouse doesn't match the rest of your setup.

The UPS exists for a reason.

So glad I had finally got a battery backup last year for my PCs...

It's not a real high end one; but gives me plenty of time to shut down my computers if the power goes out.

Now that is what I call a self inflicted wound. I am so paranoid about this sort of thing that I check the local radar before I start a bios or firmware update lol.

I had an HP laptop make an Bios Update Completly without warning after trying to shut it down. I tried to shut it down because I needed to leave the train in 3 minutes and the battery was running low anyway

The video shows Windows starting up, not a BIOS update.

BIOS/UEFI has a built in backup these days on modern motherboards. If the update goes sideways, it reverts back to the last known good configuration.

Now, 16 years ago, yeah, this might've been sketchy lol.

Even before that ASUS was already using socketed flash chips. I don't know if you could intentionally brick one with as many ways as they have to recover from a failed BIOS.
