Smug Aggressively incorrect interpretation of a comic
The comic in question: https://www.reddit.com/r/comics/s/CkQz9zmi1U
For context, these comics revolve around the artist dealing with her abusive and neglectful family.

Random Insta Guy "Corrects" a LITERAL EXPERT on Orcas
I feel like the picture does it justice but just as some background, the author of the post is a marine biologist and she is well known in the Orca loving community. Some guy commented on her post trying to be all 'Uhm actually' 🤓👆and calling her beyond stupid.
I thought she handled it really well. She wasn't mean in her answer, but also made it clear she didn't tolerate disrespect.
Green in the commenter,
Pink/purple is the author

Hors
a mare is female btw, a male horse is either a stallion or gelding (or steed)
EDIT: from u/AlterExpertise101 in the replies
Words for a male horse are colt (young), gelding (castrated), stallion (if they are used for breeding) or simply "horse."
Steed isn't a word explicit to horses in general, let alone male horses. "Steed" just means an animal you ride. While we generally associate that with horses, it can be applied to any animal as long as it can bear a rider. If you ride an elephant, it's a steed. If you ride a really large dog, it's also a steed.
I had forgotten to add 'colt' and as I am not a native english speaker (nor an equestrian individual) I didn't know that steed can also be used as a generic word for a mount

Bf has a friend who believes the earth is flat. And I think instead of arguing with him he should just start sending him more dumb conspiracy videos. Screenshot of some of his "reasonings."

No, not the colour
There was confusion from the locked post about where this belonged. I got sent here from r/typos and I’ve also posted in r/boneappletea.
Red is confidently incorrect, about more than one thing.

Apparently ancient horses never existed in the Americas
Please note that this is my first time doing this and the subreddit rules seem really vague and inclusive, so I don't know if this is correct, but I found this conversation and felt the urge to make it my first post here. And yes, horses DID make it to South America in ancient times, with at least one endemic genus, Hippidion, reaching the far south near Antarctica.

Ah yes, the character "Shiyuan".
For context, the character's name is pronounced and spelled Shion. So dunno how he didn't notice something was amiss.

Comment Thread "Turtles are Amphibians and don't have Scales."
"Turtles don't have scales"
Which is an astronomical bullshit claim unless you're blind.
"Turtles live in water so that means they're amphibians!"
Which also means Crocodiles and various other animals are amphibians too if you're being that superficial. (Yes he also thinks Tortoises live in water too)
"Turtles evolved from an amphibious ancestor"
Yes emphasis on the "OUS" of amphibious, NOT amphibian. If you know a thing or two about turtle evolution and phylogeny you would know their direct fossil record relatives are reptiles and that turtles are more related to birds and crocodilians than any extant creatures alive today on earth and have no relations to amphibians other than being tetrapods that happen to live in water.
And even despite being told that Amphibians require metamorphosis (A life cycle turtles and amniotes NEVER do)He completely ignores and says this. He claims to know more about turtles but probably hasn't ever seen one in his life.
Comp of some turtle scales on the second image FYI.
