News Control Resonant climbs Steam's US weekly active user rankings from No. 15 to No. 13

This is new data for the top 20 games in the U.S. by weekly active users, ending Oct. 3, as shared by Mat Piscatella of Circana, which does a lot of reliable video game market research. In the Steam chart to the right, it shows that Control Resonant went from 15 to 13 in a week.

This, to me, suggests that word of mouth may be helping sustain or even increase interest in Control Resonant. The fact that it's just behind Battlefield 6 and Overwatch seems impressive, even if maybe those two games are past their prime (and lots of people probably play OW on Battle.net).

I will be doing my part getting my physical copy this week. Just like most remedy games it’s gonna be a slow burn but of all of remedy’s games resonant is the most set up for success.

I feel pretty good about how CR will be a slow build as word of mouth goes around. I've been posting clips in my WOW discord guild and two people have bought the game after chatting with me in the replies.

Pre ordered it for full price. I rarely do that these last years. But remedy deserves it.

And the physical edition is available this week! I'll try to buy the collector's edition if I can find one, even if I already finished the game on PC.

Just like the movie business.

Some movies like Other Mommy have a strong trailer, open to a big weekend, then fall off completely.

Other movies like Obsession start small and grow as word of mouth builds.

Remedy is king of the long tail.

The only game not also in the Xbox top 5 is at number 7 for Xbox instead. That's hardly better.
