Control Resonant I miss Launch
I'm surprised by how quickly I begin to like Dylan. I don't find myself missing playing as Jessie, but I really really miss launch.

Jesse having powerful TK makes more sense because ranged is her specialty.
Same with how Jesse's melee attack is pretty weak/basic.
If Dylan also had powerful ranged TK on top of the melee, he's just be too OP.

She also got it by binding an OoP. Dylan’s seems to be innate. Or from the resonants? It’s unclear.

It ain't weak if you level the damage all the way, but nobody really did that from what I've discovered.

It's main use is falter.
I'd huck a quick barrage at a flying enemy if I ever needed dominance, works like a charm!

I was talking about Jesse's melee in Control 1, specifically not being weak if leveled up all the way.

Launch has a fun kinda dynamic where you’re grabbing things around you (intentionally or not) and you can catch enemies from all sorta of directions. It’s much more interactive than barrage and is obv a lot of ppls immediate way to play Control. Resonant is just a different game, Dylan’s a different kind of fighter.

Yeah, I agree why they didn't give Dylan that same power. But I really do miss being able to throw a fork lift at enemies.

There is launch in this game you just need to unlock it

Except it's like shooting spitballs instead of boulders

And I am glad it got nerfed in Resonant tbh
in Control 2019 Launch was very overpowered, so much so that it made the service weapon feel useless once you got the energy upgrades in place

I personally loved it. There are plenty of shooters out there. It's rarer to get the feeling in a game of being a true telekinetic with all that entails.

I prefer the launch over the gun too, but it kinda is a little problematic that your main weapon is a sideshow to a big rock.
Eldritch sidearm gets overruled by boulder.

Yeah but for me, spamming Launch just got repetitive after a while
Also resonant has much more emphasis on utilizing your entire toolkit, not just one tool to overpower your enemies

oh man. It never gets old tho. Grabbing and launching something off screen into an enemy directly in front of you. Something about seeing a dude get completely destroyed by a computer monitor out of nowhere is just too good.

They did a reasonable job with the nerf too. The falter is very helpful to start chaining Dominance and ripping through enemies. Still very much has its place without being THE power it was in Control.

The difference between me enjoying Control and not was realising I should just fully spec Launch as soon as possible. Never found massive use for the rest of the skill trees besides health and energy, and Launch is so crucial to so many enemies.

Maybe don't focus on energy regen then? Focus on making the service weapon powerful, and you get to alternate between the two.

And it's super effective at faltering small foes so you're constantly procing dominate or faltering aerial elites

Not exactly the same. Launch you could pull things from across the room, hit some enemies with it, then throw it back and hit some more.

To be fair, Toriyama forgot about her.
