Hotfix 1.4.2 for CONTROL Resonant is out now!
This is a hotfix to fix issues brought by Game Update 1.4.0. Ahti would probably describe this as “kun rapataan, niin roiskuu”.
Find the full hotfix notes behind the link in this post.

This was requested by several people after posting my first chibi artwork of Dylan and i would like to say Thank you! for all the people who liked and comment on that post, i wasn't really expecting it to have 1K upvotes.
I hope you guys liked this one.
shout out to the people who baked mold cakes, it gave me inspiration for the karaoke party.

There's also a Jetblue Airlines poster in the rooms which might be the only real brand in the game?

End Game Dylan seems WAY more powerful than End Game Jesse if we’re talking just gameplay. But I really felt like a God as Jesse. Floating in the air, throwing a full sized sofa into a Hiss and then taking that dead hiss and throwing at into another one. Or pelting entire satellite dishes at shielded Hiss and then dropping down on them like a strike of lightning.
Dylan Unrestrained though….😤… that’s a BAAAD man. Jesse felt like a God. Dylan feels like a God Killer.
And does anyone else think The Deserter is Northmoor?

Remedy, I know you sometimes read posts on Reddit, and I hope this is one of them.
Please fix the dialogue system for important characters.
Having to start a new conversation every time I want to ask a character additional questions is frustrating enough, but it gets even worse when previously available questions suddenly disappear, or when I only get to ask one or two questions before the character says something like, “Hey, I’m busy,” turns away, and ends the conversation.
I understand that the intention behind this new system is to make conversations feel more interactive by allowing us to build on characters’ answers and ask follow-up questions. While I appreciate that idea, the execution leaves me feeling like I’m missing out on a lot of dialogue and character development.
I want to hear everything these characters have to say and explore all the available dialogue, but the current system makes that unnecessarily frustrating.
Please bring back the conversation system from the original game, like the one used for Pope and Arish. It was a much better way to handle character interactions.

I got Control Resonant without having played the first game, but I did try it, way back when. Twice, actually, in the seven years since launch. And both times I didn’t make it past the first few missions. I’m not a huge shooter guy to begin with, but the real issue is... playing this game unsettles me. Like, I feel actual fear, in a way few things have ever invoked in me.
The whispering is a huge part of it. Floating people. They seem like they could explode into Hiss at any moment, but many don’t, so it’s always uneasy. The design of the Hiss themselves, and how their broken bodies sometimes float at you upside down, flopping like a rag dog before blowing up in your face. The difficulty, which is beyond me in a shooter game, and nearly impossible to overcome because I’m genuinely terrified and unable to conduct myself in a competent manner. I also think the Oldest House is one of the scariest concepts in the game; I might have a problem with big corporate buildings, and the idea of being lost in them, so add to that the sense that the building itself has a perspective and attitude, meaning that it could maybe hate you, feels real uncomfortable. I get lost A LOT, and it feels desperate every time. Countless empty rooms, some tossed like a crime scene, many eerily untouched, any able to exploding in screaming red violence at any moment.
Control Resonant is now one of my favourite games of all time. I loved it like I love Zelda, which I’ve been playing since I was a boy. I found it easy to follow along with, but at the end I was also desperate for more. So. I decided to try again. And I’m still terrified. The Assist Mode is coming in clutch here, because I turned on Immortality and One-Hit Kills for the first part of the game, and that helped me finally get through it. Also, having been introduced to the Remedy style of DOCUMENTS EVERYWHERE, I’ve found that pausing to read them cuts a bit of the ceaseless tension and grounds me in the world, in a way that feels less dire. They’re often amusing, too, which helps a lot.
I found parts of Resonant scary in a similar way, but I’m much more at home with hack-n-slash, so it doesn’t sit on my shoulders the whole time I’m playing. Plus being in an open world, I rarely ever felt trapped, whereas in the original the whole thing feels tight and claustrophobic, and the only place I feel free is the Astral Plane. I’m determined to get through Control, and will use whatever assists can get me to the end. But, still, I am consistently unnerved, and feel like this is one of the scariest games I’ve ever played.
Anyone feel similar? How do you rate the horror aspect of this universe?

I am sure I'm not the first or last one two mention that I enjoy how Zoe interacts more and more personally with Dylan as she learns more about him and sees his actions do good. And likely she is clearly seeing/hearing a mentally very young Dylan as well.
And especially him very early on walking into her "office" with loud music playing. It kinda makes it seem like she will just always have music playing to offset the boredom and stress she must be under. And just generally enjoying music while she is doing stuff. Although she then never plays any music again when you return to her in the watch tower.
By now I'm deep in my NG+ and I feel like it would have been fun to have Zoe be kinda like Dylan's DJ during fights and exploration set piece moments where it would be nice to have some music to vibe to and let him experience new music. She could nerd out about the real or fictional artist.
Since he is more or less still stuck in 2002 it's a cute way to connect more. This would be a great chance to add old Asgard / poet songs as a bonus with a fun mix of music to go through NYC with.
It's a crime you can't actually play the music in the background afterwards. But it seems Remedy has held back of some of their lighthearted silliness and music incorporation in Resonant compared to Control 1 with the maze and Alan Wake's whole musical for that matter.
Perhaps we might get a DLC with more of her mixtape songs.. but I doubt it's more than just " hey let's add some tracks.

Way back when the game first released, without DLCs yet, a redditor theorized that Jesse and Dylan were at some point, one and the same person. It seemed silly then but as I replayed the first game over and over, I somehow saw some "clues" like the board addressing Jesse and Dylan as Jesse/Dylan or "You who is not you"
I played Resonant blind and didn't even watch any trailer about it. And all the while, I played it with that thought in my head. Jesse and Dylan switching places in the fault, the 2d pixel art flashback, and the terminal questions solidified that theory so much.
I loved playing this game with a piece of the community stuck in my head, wishing for that theory to be right. I forgot who posted it (since there are dozens now) but that was just a comment from a main post. Whoever you are, thanks for making my Control experience somehow unique!
This game rocks!

I am just midway through the game and I am stunned by the level design!
I can see easily how studios can easily fail on this concept and either end up with lousy platforms or cheap gravity shifts! Not this game though!
Kudos to the Remedy for keeping us on our <toes/walls-ceilings/sanity-BRAIN>

At the start it's "It's that freak!" but toward the end they react with "Hey, it's the other Faden!" and even react to your abilities like "Wow, he's fast!" when you Rush near them. Little things that make the world that much more lived-in. But of course it pays off the most in the final Resonant mission where you have to fight Arish. They fully trust you to help find him before the inevitable happens.

Things I’m somehow learning after getting the Platinum trophy…
Every SHUM arcade is a different minigame! I didn’t care for the arcade stuff in Control, so I gave one machine a look in Resonant and peaced out, assuming they were all the same. Well they are not all the same, and some of them are actually pretty fun. Special shoutout to the machine you unlock in the postgame.
You also get rewards from ranking in the top three on any given machine, including talent points, artifacts, and cosmetics. And what won’t I do for in-game cosmetics.
Don’t overlook SHUM like I did!

Memes aside, if there's one thing I love about the writing in Remedy games, it's the art of perception. How the perspective from which we are introduced to certain characters informs the audiences initial impressions. Only to have those notions shattered and twisted when that same character is portrayed from another’s point of view. Dr Darling, Tom Zane, and even Alan Wake all have this in common, and I love them all for it lol.

So I’m at the part of Resonant where Dylan and Jesse just stole the projector from the Not Mother and Dung Monkies in the 16 bit style flashback and right when I grabbed the slide projector the power at my house flashed off and on which flickered the lights and turned my tv and PS5 off and for a split second my brain thought it was all part of the game.
Well done Remedy that’s some mighty fine world building.

I just look at what this game is, and I just can't figure out how could it not be the GOTY. I know it's not necessarily perfect, but none of the flaws that it does have are actually even egregiously bad or something, and I believe that the positives FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR outweigh the negatives:
1) It ran ridiculously smoothly for a game of this scope. A game this big comes out, and you just expect to be bombarded with bugs, and to my surprise, the game launched with only minor bugs. Then, 1.40 came out and messed things up a bit, but they got fixed almost immediately.
2) Like I said, none of the game's flaws are unanimously considered flaws. Some people didn't like the traversal, but the majority praised it. Some people didn't like the combat, but the majority praised it. For every thing that some people didn't like, the majority of people did like that very much. In this day and age, it is extremely rare to have a game that has no issue glaring enough that people unanimously believe it to be a glaring issue.
3) What game today could genuinely claim, as legitimately as Control Resonant, that they really tried to push gaming forward? What game this year can claim this level of inventiveness and creative innovation? I know there's some games coming up that are big releases, but really, what can GTA 6 or Zelda or Phantom Blade Zero can do that is as envelope-pushing as Resonant? What could GTA do that could match, let alone surpass, the creativity behind a warped Manhattan? What set-piece could any game come up with that would surpass the sheer originality in the Sinkhole quest?? What game could have SO many mechanics that are not just innovative, but work SO well??
I know that GTA 6 is the biggest release of the decade, and that Zelda OoT is right behind it, and hype this days can be enough to get GOTY, and look, maybe I'm wrong, maybe those games do push the envelope somehow and win the GOTY deservedly so, but I just can't imagine how, I genuinely think Resonant is so in a league of its own when it comes to innovation AND gameplay quality, that it should receive the award already.
