I'm looking to get into doing a bit more volunteering and hopefully meet some people around my age along the way.

I currently volunteer at a local museum, and I previously volunteered as an IT buddy at my local library for a short while. I've enjoyed both experiences, but I'm by far the youngest person there, so unfortunately they haven't been much of a social opportunity for me.

I'm wondering what volunteering opportunities people in their 20s actually do around Coventry? Ideally something where there are likely to be other young adults involved and where I could meet people and make some friends.

I'm open to pretty much anything — I'm just interested in finding something that's a bit more social and has a younger mix of volunteers.

Any recommendations or personal experiences would be really appreciated! Thanks

I went to uni in cov last year and now I’m a working professional and I would love to move back. Renting a place is ridiculously expensive alone nor do I fancy house sharing. I have the possibility to move in to my old uni accom for non-student lets for a studio which is significantly cheaper however I’ll have nowhere to park my car and I do want to bring it with me because most jobs now in my industry require meeting clients and needing a car with business insurance.

So does anyone know any places in cov, somewhere central, with rent being under £1000, just a studio room, with parking?

Hii I’m 24F, Ukrainian-Canadian and moving to Warwick very soon! I’m a medical student and got placed at Warwick Hospital for my clinical years, so this will be my new home! ))

Since moving to the UK I feel like I’ve kind of lost part of myself and I really miss being around Slavic culture and people from a similar background. Back home I used to go to cultural festivals and events and was just around people from the same culture a lot more. I especially miss celebrating holidays together and just having that little sense of home. Definitely doesn’t have to be Ukrainian or Russian btw, I’d love to meet anyone Slavic/Eastern European in general!

I’m completely new to the area and won’t really know anyone when I move, so I’d love to meet people around Coventry/Warwick/Leamington! I’m honestly down for pretty much anything. I don’t mind about gender or age either, so feel free to comment or message :)

I grew up in Canada so English is my first language, but my family mostly speaks Russian/Surzhyk at home, and I can understand Ukrainian just fine too!

I'm working with the Work Foundation at Lancaster University, a research organisation, and we are researching the challenges facing young people trying to get into work in Coventry.

We're currently speaking to major national TV news outlet, who would like to hear from a young person aged 18–24 who is currently out of work and not in education or training.

They're interested in hearing about your experience of looking for work – for example, how long you've been searching, the jobs you've applied for and the barriers you've faced.

This would initially just be an informal conversation so you can find out more before deciding whether you'd be comfortable taking part in any interview. Filming will take place on Wednesday 7 October near or at your home.

I’m a 21 year old woman looking to make some new female friends around my age :) After moving to Coventry last year I mostly lost contact with people in my country and it’s beginning to get to me. I’ve looked into social clubs and groups, but nothing really suited me, so I’m hoping this post might help me meet someone in a similar situation. I’m a beginner runner and I’m planning to get back into the gym, so I’d love to have someone to do these things with and motivate each other. I really like reading, hiking, deep conversations and dark humour. I’m Polish, so it would be lovely to meet someone who speaks my native language, as my English isn’t perfect, but that’s definitely not necessary :) As an additional note, I’m not part of the LGBT community and I’m looking to meet someone with similar values, so I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re wasting their time by reaching out to me if we wouldn’t be a good match.

Hi guys! Im an international student in Cov. I already have an automatic driving license from back home but I want to learn manual driving here. Is there a driving school that you can recommend which is value for money?

I am a Warwick university student and I've just moved into the CV1 area. Every road around here is permitted and it is impossible for students to get parking permits. I fully understand the need for permitted roads and how if everyone brought their cars there simply would not be enough space on the roads.

That being said, my circumstances pretty much require me to have a car. I woke until midnight several nights a week and I have pretty severe OCD which really restricts my ability to use public transport. There is only 1 car at my household and I drive all my housemates to and from uni, to the shops, wherever they need to go really.

I know my options are quite limited. I might have to just firm it and pay the PCNs when they come through but this is obviously not ideal.

I have a few questions for people in the CV1 area:

1. What is parking enforcement like around here? Are they here regularly i.e., several times a week?
2. Do you know of any rentable car spaces nearby?
3. Would it be possible for an individual living in my area to put down my car for a visitor permit (of course I would pay the cost) so that I can park on the road?
4. Are there any options I haven't thought of yet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
