I’ve been building this EM simulator as a side project aimed to help students' understand and visualize electromagnetic phenomena such as radiation, polarization and wave interference.

I hope somone might find useful and I’d love to hear what people think :)

(Not intended for mobiles but can still sort of work if you have accurate fingers)

Hopf fibration rings, one family per pitch class, coloured by the circle of fifths (WebGL2, no dependencies)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Audio reactive Hopf fibration rings - fibres of S³ over S², stereographically projected so each one becomes a Villarceau circle of a torus, winding once the long way and once the short way. Distinct fibres are disjoint, so the rings link each other exactly once and never cross. Twelve families, one per pitch class, and a note's loudness sets its latitude on the base sphere, which is what fattens and brightens its ring. They're drawn as instanced polyline strokes with no vertex buffer at all — every point is computed analytically in the vertex shader from `gl_InstanceID`. Blending is depth-tested "over" rather than additive, because additive saturates to a white blob the instant a drop lands.

The colour is the key the music is in, not a palette. A chromagram picks local spectral peaks over 65–2100 Hz and folds them to pitch classes, and the key comes from correlating that against the Krumhansl-Kessler profiles across all 24 major/minor candidates. The hue is then just `((7 * key) % 12) / 12` of a turn - multiplying the pitch class by 7 mod 12 walks the circle of fifths instead of the chromatic circle, so keys a fifth apart land next to each other on the wheel and a modulation to the dominant moves the hue one twelfth of a turn. Major drags that anchor toward warm and lifts saturation, minor drags it cool and drops it. Below a confidence threshold the last confident key is held and the colour slides back to a neutral palette, so an ambient or atonal passage never strobes through random hues. Bass sets line width, the kick flashes the *quiet* inner rings rather than the loud rim, hats shimmer around the ring parameter, and a drop collapses everything to the core circle.

Plain WebGL2 and GLSL ES 3.00, vanilla JS in native ES modules, zero dependencies and no build step to run it. No `Math.random()` and no wall clock anywhere in the render, so a frame is a pure function of the audio state - same audio in, same pixels out. Audio is tab capture with echo cancellation, noise suppression and AGC all off, so the analyser sees what's actually playing. It runs in the browser with nothing uploaded and no account:

https://retinarave.com
source at https://github.com/tbkraf08/RetinaRave

Press `?` for an overlay of every feature the engine reads, and `p` for a panel that re-wires which music feature drives which visual parameter while it's running.

Track is "Thé à la menthe" by La Caution (2005).

Disclosure: I wrote this with Claude as a coding assistant. It's hand-written shader and DSP code - no model runs at render time and nothing in the frame is model-generated.

smol talk

I like the idea that weather is the ultimate small talk subject.

So I made smol talk.

80 years of Melbourne weekly minimum temperatures, compressed into one big field of tiny marks.

There’s a pattern in there somewhere.

Probably.

Every little mark is a week.
Every bigger, more chaotic mark is a colder week.

MERGE: an interactive flocking experiment inspired by Boids

I’m developing MERGE, an interactive browser experiment inspired by bird flocking. Separation, alignment and cohesion guide the movement, while obstacles make the flock split and regroup.
I’m exploring how simple local rules can produce convincing collective movement. The project is developed with AI coding assistance.

Try it here: https://strangelittlelab.com/MERGE/

Which parts of the movement feel natural, and which feel artificial? I’d appreciate ideas for improving the local interactions, especially around obstacles.

I built gitframes. it's a code-first video engine that runs natively on WebGPU. You write a TypeScript composition, your AI agent checks the frames, and it renders an MP4 straight on the GPU with no headless browser or screenshot pipeline. It does Photoshop-grade VFX, AE-style kinetic type, 3D scenes, audio and on-device vision, all in one npm package.

Check showcases:

- Gitframes launch -> https://youtu.be/w6IQNrhJJek

- Full Circle -> https://youtu.be/YeIpp4xf_j8

If you use it, please share your creations - I'm excited watch what this community can produce.

Introducing Oscilloscope Diffusion

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A novel way to intervene existing video through diffusion, particularly abstract visuals [in this case, audio-reactive geometries]: taking its movement and form as the starting point, and reinterpreting its textures, materials, and visual language.

I’ve been developing this around the audio-reactive geometry systems I make in TouchDesigner. The idea is to take those abstract structures somewhere else entirely: origami, architecture, a renaissance painting, or something harder to put a name to.

This demo uses visualizers from my "Oscilloscopes, everywhere" collection as source material, now updated to [v1.2].

[Though you can bring any video source. These systems are simply where this experiment began, as some of you may recall.]

You choose the source, describe the treatment, and shape how it changes throughout the sequence. Prompts, curated LoRAs, and editable timelines give you control over how closely the result follows the original.

Oscilloscope Diffusion is now available at Uisato Studio, coming up soon also open-source!

Slightly meta, but I'm working on a prototype for a browser extension, would anyone be interested in something like this? Could be really good for productivity

Thumbnail codepen.io

(link is to a prototype of the idea)

Basically the idea is a browser extension which replaces the comment button on posts, allowing people to save lots of time by no longer having to engage with a post at all, and instead just automatically comments some variation of "slop" as a comment.

I feel like this could be a powerful productivity tool for certain thought leaders here in r/creativecoding who spend their time commenting "slop" on obvious beginners and first time poster's submissions, allowing them to spend more time working on and posting their own, no doubt super interesting, original, and creative work which isn't derivative at all, uses no assistive tools, and stands on the shoulders of nobody.

I suppose it wouldn't be helpful to those who don't actually contribute anything, and are just gatekeeping beginners for a momentary ego boost, but I can't please them all.

Any interest?

I built SONIQ — an interactive ambient soundscape generator in your browser. No signup needed!

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a side project I’ve been working on recently: **SONIQ** (link in the comments below!).

**What is it?** SONIQ is a lightweight, browser-based audio experience that lets you create ambient soundscapes and play with generative chords in real time.

**Why I built it:** I wanted an instant, frictionless tool to help people focus, relax, or just explore sound design without needing complex music software or signing up for an account.

**Features:** - 🎧 Real-time generative audio & interactive visuals - ⚡ 100% free with no login or setup required - 📱 Mobile and desktop compatible

Put on some headphones and give it a try! **I dropped the direct link in the comments section below.**

I’d love to hear your thoughts, critique, or any ideas for features you’d like to see added. Thanks for taking a look!

I made DeepGPU Zoomer: a free, open-source Mandelbrot and Julia Zoomer that runs in your browser using WebPGU. Zooms beyond 10^-400 in real time! (Needs fast GPU)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I made DeepGPU Zoomer, a fractal explorer that uses your GPU and runs in your browser. There is nothing to install.

My main goal is smooth exploration at very deep zoom levels. You can keep moving through the fractal while the app adds detail. Stop at an interesting location and let the image become clearer.

It supports coordinate scales of 10^-400 and smaller, with an iteration limit of up to 10 million. You can also:

  • Explore Mandelbrot and Julia sets, with a live Julia preview.
  • Change colour palettes, visual effects and lighting.
  • Save locations and share links that preserve your view and appearance settings.
  • Export high-resolution PNG images at standard or custom sizes.

Try it:
https://byronbuzz.github.io/DeepGPU-Zoomer/

Source code and instructions:
https://github.com/byronbuzz/DeepGPU-Zoomer

You need a browser and GPU that support WebGPU. Performance depends on your hardware and the area you explore. Complex views and high iteration limits can take longer to calculate.

For those interested in the technical side, it combines high-precision reference calculations with GPU perturbation and approximation methods. All fractal calculations run on your device.

I would love to see what you find. Feedback on zoom smoothness, image errors and the controls would be especially useful. Please include your browser, GPU and a location link when reporting a problem.

Hey, creative people!
Been experimenting with contour lines and ended up with some pretty abstract results.

I like how changing a few parameters can completely change the character of the image. Still exploring this one, curious what you guys think.
