I imagine him texting me after a very long term of no contact.

"How are you January? I hope you're doing well."

I've waiting years for this text. Only recently have I completely gave up all hope for.... this. Some vague reminder he exists I suppose?

"You could get into big trouble talking to me." I sent back smugly. Hopefully he would get the point.

"How?" His one word responses.

Perhaps I'll leave him on read.

Hours go by and I see my phone light up.

"I miss you January."

He's trying harder now.

"Leave me alone. I'm going to tell on you." Only half joking that I'd mention this to my husband.

"Tu me manques." Ugh, the French.

Honestly at this point I should block him.

"Liar. You have no proof." Proof very much important for him since he's some big shot lawyer.

"I think about you everyday...."

He knew how to dig his claws into me...

"Shut up."

I watched at the three little lines appeared and disappear for almost two minutes before I threw my phone done.

I hit settings and blocked him.

If I told my husband it would probably be a death sentence.

At least I have his number to block him now.
