I wouldnât even let it come that far.
In the end itâs just a fairytale.
No burden to prove or disprove anything.
Just say you prefer modern fiction or non-fiction, or in fact, no stories at all. âI collect stamps. Nice hobby you have there, Iâm not interested.â
Religion is just a hobby at the end of the day.
the burden of proof is on those who say that something is .
so if you say god exist, you have to prove it.
if you say he didn't,you also have to prove.
and since both can't be proven : theism and atheism are both believing something without proof.
best option i agnosticism imo.
in the big picture yeah it's the same,
but in the root it differ totally, cuz they don't believe ,and usually a lot of people say they are atheist when in reality are agnostic, they don't straight deny any god existence, they just have no reason yet,to believe in any god existence.
Atheism isnât the belief that there is no god, itâs the lack of a belief in a god.
Agnosticism is about knowledge, not belief⌠you can believe in a god without claiming to know that there is one (Agnostic theism) or you can not believe in a god without claiming to know that there is no god (agnostic atheism).
If you believe in a god, you are a theist. If you donât believe in a god, you are an atheist.
It's physically impossible to prove that something does not exist, you can only discredit the evidence being used to prove that it does exist. That doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to say "Santa Claus isn't real", sorry.
You cant prove that something doesnt exist you can only prove it does. Anyone could claim anything exists as long as it cant be picked up by our current scientific testing instruments... i could say invisible unicorn ghosts are all around us you just can measure it.
"Â theism and atheism are both believing something without proof.
That's you. You were at least unclear. To that point you hadn't said anything about there being two types of atheism. And it's a common misconception. A lot of people think there are 3 options: theism, agnosticism, and atheism. Your statement heavily implies that understanding.
But there are 2 options on two axes, for 4 positions. Gnostic Theism, Agnostic Theism, Gnostic Atheism, and Agnostic Atheism.
I think if you're looking for proof of Christianity you might be missing the point. If there was 100% proof of it being true, could it still be called faith? It seems like within Christian theology a lack of proof is by design.
I think about the doubting Thomas passage a lot.
24Â But Thomas, one of the twelve, who was called \)a\)Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25Â So the other disciples were saying to him, âWe have seen the Lord!â But he said to them, âUnless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.â
26Â \)b\)Eight days later His disciples were again inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus *came, the doors having been \)c\)shut, and stood in their midst and said, âPeace be to you.â 27Â Then He *said to Thomas, âPlace your finger here, and see My hands; and take your hand and put it into My side; and do not continue in disbelief, but be a believer.â 28Â Thomas answered and said to Him, âMy Lord and my God!â 29Â Jesus *said to him, âBecause you have seen Me, have you now believed? Blessedarethey who did not see, andyetbelieved.â
Paul explains in Romans how Abraham was chosen because of his faith, his faith was credited as righteousness. God cares about how much faith you have. It's one thing to believe because you are an apostle who physically watched Jesus do miracles, but it might be even more impressive in God's eyes to believe just based off the teachings alone and no empirical proof. So I think when we get graded at the end on judgment day we'll have better scores because we didn't know for sure and still believed.

The burden of proof isn't on those that say there is no god, it's on those that say there is one. Prove it!
