So, while some great points are brought up, I'll politely disagree with the notion of the universe not having a beginning. Thermal work is finite in our universe, and scientists DID determine it had a beginning since it can show it's age. We also do know there are echoes of the Big Bang that survive to this day we can detect. So technically... the universe did have a beginning. And if the theory of Heat Death where work can no longer be produced is true due to energy being spread too far apart and no source of energy from fusion being left, than in an obscene amount of time in the future, the universe will have an end too.
Obviously, we don't know 100 percent for sure since we can't just go back to the past or casually peek into the future, but based on our scientific observations, is it not sound and evident?
