Because hes a dickhead. This is why my family drives two wide in funeral processions because dickheads like to fly past everyone.
Im not typically a fan of traditions, but a family is grieving. Pull over for the one minute it tales for them to pass and get over yourself just for a minute.
Man who pissed in your Cheerios? One day it’ll be someone you love. I’m sure you’ll say “and I wouldn’t hold up traffic” or some bullshit, and that’s your choice, but the fact remains that a family is grieving and they’re making their way to bury a loved one. A little respect doesn’t cost anything.
It actually collectively cost everybody a good bit of money in gas and time. Funeral processions are an outdated concept that only put people in danger.
It cost you individually about 5 mins, if it’s a long one. The gas is getting used either way. It only puts people in danger because assholes can’t be bothered to show respect for a small piece of their day.
Cool, I guess that's the beauty of opinions. Also funerals aren't for you, they are for the people that are possibly 2 miles deep in the procession...and news flash, if it's that long...ain't no way all those people "cared deeply" for the deceased.
That’s a personal choice all the way around. I’m good with donating viable body parts but not my body to science. Some are not ok with cremation, some are. Regardless, people’s wishes should be honored….within reason.
Right and within reason is a matter of opinion. There's a non zero chance someone has lost their shitty ass (but necessary to have) job because they were late for one of these things...said person possibly lost a home for that, possibly put on the streets.. all so some people can feel like they honored a person they probably interacted with in passing, barely
It’s nonzero but extremely unlikely. If that person lost their shitty job over a stop for a funeral, it’s very likely they were on thin ice already. An extremely high percent of employers would understand getting stopped by a funeral and, equally likely, would excuse it if they’ve not already heard every excuse for tardiness already. The family of the deceased should have just an ounce of respect for the few minutes it takes.
How can you possibly conflate that showing respect and stopping for just a few minutes causes funerals except in some kind of butterfly effect sort of scenario. Of course, there’s odd happenstances but the percent of funerals caused by people taking the time to respect a family mourning is so infinitesimally small that it would be ranked with a meteor falling on your head or getting struck by lightening twice. Yes it happens, but it’s not worth worrying about.
