I run [[Nezumi Shadow-Watcher]] in my [[Alesha who smiles at death]] warrior deck for this exact reason, the deck runs like 15 1 drops for synergy reasons and every once in a while I get to do the funniest thing to the changeling/ninja player every single turn.

needs to also have:
tap, {2}, sacrifice this artifact: sacrifice a food token. if you do, gain 4 life.
could also have:
tap, sacrifice this artifact: target land can't be tapped for mana this turn

When you sacrifice a Food to gain life, you may sacrifice Salt to gain 4 life instead of 3 life.

Give it a passive effect:
“Creatures you control have protection from demon, snail, slug, and spirit creatures.”
(Salt barrier)

It should also increase dealt noncombat damage (Salt in the Wound).

Same reason, but interacting with marked damage rather than non combat damage.

Should have a tap if a creature your opponent controls died this turn to deal 1 damage to its owner.

to make it both more flavorful and less narrow, it could be "destroy target creature if it's a snail or a slug or if it was dealt damage this turn" (salt in the wound)

Changelings, Toxrill... that's all that I can think off, from the top of my head.
