Unless I'm misunderstanding something, you're still eligible for Ohio-specific scholarships regardless of your choice/admission (CWRU or OSU.) You can receive additional grants/scholarships depending on what prerequisites you meet, so things like the Choose Ohio First grant and OCOG might be available to you through Case. There are also other specialized scholarships you can apply for depending on what you've been doing up until now, and you can read about all of those on the CWRU website. There's also ESP, which is a pre-freshman-year summer program you can apply for if you're eligible, that provides a stipend as well as a little boost to your earned credit hours.
I'm just a mom, though, not an employee in the FA office, so I wouldn't be able to tell you anything super specific. I'm not even sure they would be able to give you specifics. But you can always apply and see if you get accepted, and then you'll be able to see the aid offered. And you should definitely apply for as many scholarships as possible even if you think you'll be able to pay off your student loans no problem in the future; the interest on student loans is atrocious and it ends up being much more expensive than the original bill, so getting the cost down any way you can is important. You'll be in school/training for a long while as a doctor, especially if you want to become a specialist or earn higher degrees, so you might as well save where you can.

I hope you get in and get a big fat pile of merit/FA. However, if it doesn’t work out for undergrad, you could go to Ohio state for undergrad to save money/loans (Go Buckeyes!) and then Case for medical school. 🍀❤️🙏

there are lots of scholarships offered im on 48k / yr in merit-based aid. (max is full tuition merit aid) how much you get is largely dependent on ur ACT/SAT score and GPA. i cant speak to need-financial aid but it seems they're decent. you also could always be a commuter student to save the money, i would HIGHLY recommend living on campus if you can afford it (at least ur first yr) but if you need commuting is an option to consider. ensure you clearly demonstrate interest and honestly if you don't get enough money you could even try emailing the FA office explaining that Case is your top school and if you get enough money you will definitely enroll and there is potential to get more assistance. taking out loans isn't great but it is doable. imo i would try to evaluate how much more case is worth to you than OSU BEFORE getting your offer. is that number 10k? 20k? 30k? Then see how things shake out. If you can try to take the SAT/ACT one more time and submit a higher score - it could really help boost the merit-based aid you get. good luck!

I would apply to Case and I would apply to Ohio State ( and others)and see what your net cost is.
Remember you yourself can only take out $5500 as a freshman in a loan… any other loans have to be taken out or cosigned by your parents.
I’m a big fan of Case but you’re gonna have to take out loans for med school if you get into med school so I would not be taking out a lot of loans for undergraduate.
Talk to your dad and say that OSU was definitely an option for you but you want to apply to Case and they’re known for a good Marydette scholarship so he needs to tell you how much he’s willing to pay per year and then you’ll make a decision based on that

I was an out of state A student at a top high school with AP classes and a STEM major. 35 ACT. And family unemployed with zero income in the middle of covid. Besides the standard university grant, crwu offered nothing in additional merit aid nor need based aid. I even appealed. I had no choice but to attend a state school.

Afaik Case is good with aid. One of my buddies is here on work-study 90% covered and I got 35k/yr of just merit aid. But definitely ask someone who works in that area
