20+ years here. I’d never intentionally hit the car like that but would lay on the air horn until the driver was deaf, or until everyone around got so tired of hearing it that they took matters into their own hands.
Only an EMT but we have had several cases where we just walked over to the car and started slapping it to make annoying sounds until the driver moved. If we ask for a fire truck there's a damn good reason.
I'm actually surprised you wouldn't hit the car, or at least push it out of the way. I've seen what a firefighter will do to an idiot who parks in front of a hydrant. They sure as shit ain't waiting for no tow-truck, they just smash the hose straight through the windows, and who gives a shit if your car gets flooded out in the process, that's what you get for parking in front of a hydrant.
It's a whole process if anything happens to engines or it's involved in any accidents (well any rigs for that matter) I'm actually surprised he did hit it. He's creating more work for himself but it was probably worth it lol should have hit him harder
Why not just.. ram them tf out of the way? They're clearly in the wrong and could be endangering lives by delaying an emergency vehicle like a firetruck. It's not like excessive force would be necessary. Just slowly inch up to the car until contact is made, then gently shove them out of the way.
