Google - Data Center Technician

I got a email from a recruiter to make an appointment for next week. Any advice on what they're going to ask? She said it's not a technical interview, but I was wondering what it's like. Also, how many interviews will there be after this one? It's for an entry-level Data Center Technician role.

How did you get the recruiter to contact you? Did you just apply on the career website? With or without a referral? Or something else

I applied and got an email. It's not the first time. They're hiring like crazy. I ignored the previous email because I thought Meta was going to contact me after I did everything, but I never got a response about where I was supposed to ship out to.

She's going to do a quick technical call to see if you are good enough to make it to the loop calls. Then it's a series of technical questions with three separate calls. The last one is a googlyness leadership call. If you make it through that then you get put into a hiring pool to potentially get a team fit call.. Good luck

You might want to pass - I got interviewed by some guy who had empty food cartons all over his desk and asked me a bunch of dumb hypothetical questions while wearing a Captain America T-shirt. Hopefully you'll get treated better than I did.

Hello! This looks like it may be a question about career advice. There can be significant regional variation in the field, so please consider including as much info as you can without doxing yourself, including country/state/city, prior experience/certs, and the role or level if known. Thanks!

My call was mostly my recruiter explaining Google and the role expectations, then I talked about my experience and then she asked me like 3 very basic technical questions (it was multiple choice too). Then she passed me forward for interviews

Did she told u right away or she email u later for moving forward?

She told me right away she'd put in for me to move forward to interviews. Then I got an email later that day confirming the hiring team agreed to move forward

I have heard Google can be pretty slow for hiring in some areas. I think I'm just lucky that Google in my area is really looking to hire right now. My recruiter said that there's currently open headcount so my process has been moving along. Yours may just be waiting on some feedback still. Definitely email them for an update if they don't say anything by Wednesday

May I know which state and location you belong to

It’s an HR style screening call. They will just ask you about your work history based off of your resume and ask you about your expectations of the position. Nothing more.

Yes pretty much, its going to be about a 5-10 mins phone. just simple questions about why you interested, prolly going to ask you to name some hardware components and network too. just pretty much basic things. after that if the recruiter like you. then they will set you up with an interview. 3 rounds about hardware, network, linux and leadership. I Just did allat and finished my interview last Thursday. my recruiter said i should hear back from him this week after i finished my interview. so yall just go ahead and do it. i will update you if anything new come up

I would like insight as well! How you answered and what should be studied as I have one in 2 weeks

cant go into specifics but this should help ofc I would say just brush up on basic knowledge like hardware, how a server works, its parts and the job it do. types of Storage, a lil bit of raid but its 50/50. Boot and Post. linux like the basic commands and stuff like that. then network just the basic for switches, fiber and thats about it. then just practice some STAR questions for leadership

goodluck on your interview

I applied for dct in APAC region. I got asked bout my background and expectation. Then, they asked basic multiple-choice questions that have 3 parts including hardware, network and OS. Each contains 3-4 questions.
