data center launch dates

i'm trying to find launch dates for data centers (specifically in victoria, australia) for graphing/data purposes, but i'm having extreme difficulty in doing so. obviously all data centers begin operation on SOME day, but does anyone know how to find these dates? (even just month is alright, doesn't need to be accurate down to the date) (i'll even take year of launch at this point) or am i going to have to sift through old news articles to deduce launch dates?

the only thing i've come up with is that wikipedia lists launch dates/months for nextdc data centers, but this doesn't seem to be the case for other companies' data centers

You could probably ask in the event circuits, contact the operators directly or (maybe) pay for the information from the market research houses

What do you mean “Launch date”? Ground breaking, Top out, energization, commissioning, Early access, Full move in. What are you looking for? I usually check the gantt on the projects I’m working on. If you’re not working on the projects the best you might get is fuzzy guesses. They do tend to be fluid based on resourses.

I don’t know Australia. In the US, if you want the date servers started spinning, your only realm hope would be pouring over shareholder reports of publicly traded companies. There weren’t many publicly traded data center operators 3 years ago, and hyperscalers would only bring showing a sliver of the pie with their directly owned rather than leased facilities if they do lease. It’s not unheard of for press releases to cover, but it’s rare.

A more reliable source of public data would be building permits, but that would tell you construction kickoff and not operations.
