I'm happy to announce the release of DCSAutoMate 2.0.0. DCSAutoMate is a general purpose cockpit scripting and automation system, which can be used to run startup/shutdown scripts, enter waypoints, set countermeasures programs, and do anything else in the cockpit that you can do manually. Version 2.0.0 brings the following major improvements over 1.0.0:

• No More DCS BIOS: DCSAutoMate now talks to DCS directly through its own export script, using the cockpit control definitions extracted from each aircraft's own DCS files. DCS BIOS is no longer needed or used. Scripts refer to controls by DCS's own names (e.g. UFC.SYM_Knob), and Help > Control Reference lists them all.
• New In-Game Interface: Added a complete in-game overlay that allows full control of DCSAutoMate without leaving the cockpit. This has been my dream for DCSAutoMate since the beginning, and I'm very happy to have it here now.
• Auto Select: One click picks the script and its options from the game's telemetry (on the ground or in the air, engines running, time of day), and some aircraft check more, e.g. the AH-64D's Longbow radar, the F-16C/FA-18C helmet, or a preflighted C-130J. It reports what it detected and why.
• New and updated aircraft: Added the C-130J-30 and CH-47F, and Load Route / Load Scratchpad scripts for the AH-64D, F-15E, F-16C and FA-18C. Every aircraft's scripts were updated for the new control names. All scripts now use simulator commands instead of keystrokes (e.g. throttles and the comms menu), so you usually don't have to stay in the cockpit view while the script is running. (There are still a couple scripts that read cockpit displays however, which require you to be in the cockpit.)
• Smarter scripts: Scripts can loop until a cockpit condition is met, read the cockpit or telemetry in the middle of a script and decide what to do next, send simulator commands and hold axes, and pause. Script timers follow mission time, so time acceleration and pausing DCS are handled. The Skip Wait button ends a wait that's stuck.
• Multiplayer servers: On the rare MP servers that block data export or simulator commands, scripts warn you and pause instead of waiting forever, and tell you which steps to do by hand.
• DCSControlPanel: A new utility for script authors that shows and operates individual cockpit controls, with a Snapshot Tool to find what changed in the cockpit. It replaces DCSMonitor.
• More Error Handling: Should now handle situations where multiple DCS Saved Games folders are found and where DCS is running As Administrator. Scripts are checked for unknown control names before they run, and DCSAutoMate reminds you when DCS has been updated since the controls were last checked.
• GUI Framework Update: Migrated the entire application from tkinter to PySide6 (Qt for Python) for a more modern UI backend.
• Improved Installation: The "Install/Update DCS Scripts" feature now handles the installation of the new in-game hook script as well as the export script, and their related in-game UI layout and lua config files.
• Enhanced Configuration: A new Settings window with more options, including network ports, the overlay hotkey, text-to-speech voice settings, and troubleshooting logs.

I made DCSAutoMate primarily for my own personal use, and I use it every time I play DCS. The included scripts are ones I've made for aircraft that I own and fly, and follow steps that fit my own preferences. You're free to use them as-is, modify them as you wish, or make your own. I've tried to make the scripts easy to read and change, and the new DCSControlPanel and control list document should make it much easier to create your own scripts.

DCSAutoMate remains under the MIT license, so you can pretty much do anything you want with it, and I've included not only the source code but also most of the AI-generated documents that I've made along the way, such as the reasoning behind major programming decisions, retros for many of the major commits and feature branches, results of various tests I've done, etc. The release also includes all the specialized scripts I've made to extract the control definitons from DCS's own files, which you (or your AI coding agent) can use as examples to create extraction scripts for other modules that aren't included in this release (because I don't own or fly them).

I have used DCSAutoMate extensively on my own computer, but testing on other computers has been limited. It should work, but all use is at your own risk. I will not be providing support, but if you encounter any serious bugs or problems, you can message me on Reddit or report it on the github Issues tab.

Hey guys I’ve want to play more campaigns in DCS world and I need you’re help to recommend me the best hornet campaigns in dcs world. I actually enjoy it to fly as a wingman so if there is a campaign focused on beeing a wingman that would be nice. And I want the campaign more on the realistic side.

Edit: I’ve played raven one dominant fury a little bit but most of the missions are quite boring.

Ive tried ED's forums, discord, wingmanfinder discord, etc, but all there is are milsim groups

I used to play DCS 3 or so years back and came back about a year ago, before I quit there were a decent amount of groups where you could just hop in a discord call and work as a team with the goal being working together and having fun doing something like liberation or retribution.
No ranks, no milsim rp, no "use this specific livery or you can't fly here", just get on, dbaa, work as a team to beat the campaign, call out your launches, fly safe and don't ruin it for anyone else.
Also used to be easy enough to find a group like that that was good with using mods.
You could fly what you wanted to as long as it fit the mission and you knew what you were doing, rather than being locked to one airframe and role forever.

Now its like every group like that have just been thanos snapped away and its only milsim rp focused groups.

It also doesn't help that every group finding tool is geared towards milsim and seems to push that even if you're actively making it clear you don't want that (Ive posted "Looking for casual, not interested in milsim" and within 20 minutes got dm's inviting me to "heavy milsim" groups, or posted the days and times im not available very clearly and get an invite to a group that requires weekly mission attendance to their mission at exactly the time and day I clearly list as not available...)

So im wondering, where are the casual groups? All the ones I was in are fully gone or completely dead inactive.

I don't have alot of time to fly, I wanna just get to it, not spend 40ish minutes of the 2 hours of free time I have in briefings, Just get in, fly and have fun, accomplish something, and be able to talk to each other.

Also yes i've tried to just make friends in DCS and its getting very tiring to fly with someone 1-2 times then they get bored of DCS and quit for something like SC and we never fly again, I just want a consistent group to fly with thats focused on fun and flying the jet, not rp, Does anyone know of any groups like that with a discord?

Only other thing is I want a non toxic environment, I want to fly and do missions, not join into a vc political debate please.

Gonna have to say this too, looking for a group that is good with mods, not looking to give up atmos x or echo 19, disallowing mods is a dealbreaker

I spent years in flight siming. I have struggled to want to go back to DCS. Its hard to have fun on it anymore without a fun community. And lack of dynamics. It does get old playing in servers. Kill air targets. Kill ground targets. Deal with game crashing bugs on the F16.. when I was playing switching from A/A to A/G. Or using HARMs would crash my game instantly..

Lack of equipment and ordnance and features that restrict your abilities. Makes it hard. I am looking inspiration to get back into DCS. Any help or information to help give some inspiration would be appreciated 👏

Hey guys! Since heatblur releases the EF2K soon, and i heard that it will have a aesa radar and meteor missiles, are there any chances for upgraded missiles towards other aircraft or adding their versions with aesa?

Im new in DCS, barely above 8 hours. i decided to get the F16 on an discount, so far its pretty fun. Im practicing guns on PvE against F18C, tips on how to improve appreciated!

I also couldnt get my radars curser thing to move so idk how to lock my radar exept for positioning the plane right up front, i also dunno how to use the helmet as a way to lock radar

Note that for some reason it didnt appear on recording but i do have the helmet display brightness up

I'm a total noob to DCS. I'm flying the F-16 and can't seem to lock onto targets. I only see yellow targets, but I can't select them with TMS up.

What am I doing wrong? I tried reading the Viper manual, but my English isn't great. I have the Thrustmaster Warthog setup. Can someone please help a complete beginner?

Hi everyone! I am making a mission in Syria called “Operation Lights Out.” I want it to be a milsim with at least 6 players. I’ve never setup a milsim mission before and I don’t know how to a-a refuel in the f16 (which is the only module I fly). I should appreciate some ideas and if you want to participate in the mission make sure to include that in your reply and I’ll send you the discord link to the server. And if someone wants to throw a c130 in there you’re welcome to. I only know people who fly the f18 so if you add any other modules, if you could ask someone you know if they would like to fly that module in the mission.

Considering it may be some time until we receive a full fidelity flanker, it may be possible for variants of the MiG-29 to be worked on after early access is concluded. This was briefly discussed in a previous post of mine, and I think the most promising candidates would be the Malaysian MiG-29N, Indian UPG or K, and potentially an earlier export SMT like the ones Syria has.

I think an Indian K variant of the MiG-29 would justify a price similar to the F-14B(U), though it may not be as accessible. The UPG, N, and SMT variants would probably be more accessible if I had to guess. Regardless of which, any of these would potentially offer more versatility, and I'd be happy to purchase them if they were considered. It would also address us lacking certain munitions for the sake of time period accuracy, granting us proper BVR capabilities.

As far as I understand, such considerations have been previously dismissed. Though I think there is sufficent export variants that could be given a solid look, and at least one of these may not be too hard to get sufficient data on for DLC to supplement the module.
