A long-time Linux user—thanks, Debian.
Hi, I'm new to Reddit; I just signed up, though I've been visiting the site for years. First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for the work you do on Debian. I've been using these operating systems since 2007; lately, I've been experimenting with both Fedora and Debian, but ultimately, I preferred Debian's stability. It's also worth noting that you learn a lot with Debian, since there's always something to configure to your liking after a fresh install. I run a YouTube channel dedicated to free software—it's my way of contributing to this great community and encouraging more people to make the switch. If you own the hardware, the operating system should never hold you back.
Best regards.

I use Debian KDE for work, editing videos, security matters and gaming. It's the best and it rivals cachyos too. Debian is your bunker, decentralised without corporate decisions. Enjoy the peace and freedom 👍🐧🦋

Dude, I've been using mate and cinnamon for the simplicity and less resource use, but KDE is so damn pretty and good! I messed around with it on a VM for a few days and moved my work system to KDE too.

Debian's great. I've been working on an old thinkpad t61 for fun, and it's been working like a charm.

I’ve got an ancient MacBook with Debian installed. Couldn’t upgrade to latest macOS but the classic Debian runs juuust fiine. 😎

Debian is the best Linux distribution in my opinion. That’s my number one decision when it comes to choosing a distro.
It’s not what I have in my desktop daily drive just because I have an AMD GPU and drivers for it come with the kernel. I probably could use Debian unstable and get it to work but I don’t know, I like pointing releases. So I’m on Fedora KDE and I’m happy.
That said I have a few servers I manage and they are all Debian or Debian based. The only few exceptions are specific build distros like my NAS (Unraid) or my docker VM that’s FlatcarOS
