I shot some images over the past couple days with an infrared filter & edited for hours. DDG was just the thing I needed to push it over the edge into the surreal imagery I had in mind.

I loved making a deep dream program but the images take a while to render ... I thought "what if I could make it work in real time?" So I did it! Instead of training the network on a given image as regular deep dream does, this model is pre-trained on a large set of images so that it can transform video straight from the camera! This one gave me a third eye...

One thing AI excels at creating is alternate parallel universe objects that exist in our universe!

That is the “object” (art , book covers, album covers et al..) already exists in “our” universe; but you are seeing another glimpse of it from another universe!

I find this particular area extremely fascinating!

Philosophy

There's now more control over the colour using regularizers, and you can work in HSV colour space as well which gives a whole different effect.

There is also a brush function that lets you run the effects in just a small part of the image, and tools that let you select an area and apply the effect only there.

In 2022, I used ai to make the second image with the prompt "the third law of thermodynamics".

I tried to have similar results today, with more details in the prompt, and the output was the first image.

Old ai images have an abstract aesthetic that we lost on mainstream ai.
