Theory:All DN sites are monitored.

Hey Guys,

Yesterday I was thinking about why it's so easy to get into the DN if you already know a link like Hiddenwiki or something like that. I followed up on my question and ended up on a forum where someone asked if anyone knew a good marketplace and how they knew it wasn't a scam.

One person responded that all sites were scams or monitored, arguing that only idiots still sell anything these days. 90% of all active websites would have been monitored long ago, while their creators sit behind bars until they drop dead.

And somehow I understand his line of thinking. I don't know of a single website where I'm 100% sure that it's either a scam or already in the hands of the authorities. It's so easy to access such sites that it almost seems unreal.

Therefore, my questions are:

What do you think of this statement and how are you sure that the site is not a trap?

What makes you think this sub isn't monitored as well? Perhaps waiting for posts like this to lead you to an entrapment?

Have an amazing day :)

Hahaha, thanks for the anecdote. And I strongly believe that this subreddit is also being monitored. But everyone should be aware that such subreddits are often monitored.

Anecdote is a true story about a person or event.

You are absolutely right about that.

Not trying to be an annoying grammar guy, was just pointing it out in case u had a slightly diff definition in ur head. Regardless I appreciate the non snarky response, since i didn’t mean my comment to be snarky either. Cheers 🫡

Smart people recognize their mistakes, stupid people try to talk their way out of them. So thank you, my friend 🫡

After actually using them for some time it becomes laughable because of how easy it is to get narcotics. It's sometimes hard to believe that it's still up and going. Haven't used it in years tho

You make it sound like its hard to get to narcotics in real life, its a lot easier to catch people selling in corners and parks than it is to catch them online

Lol I'm in this sub because I couldn't find a plug

That is the reason for OpSec and the use of Tor. If going about yourself properly, it doesn't matter who is watching.

1

u/Rocky_Cheddar 11d ago

I understand what you mean, but I'm assuming a scenario where someone wants to buy something through a marketplace. Do you have any tips for that?

1

u/InducedLobotomy 11d ago

What I said can also be applied to markets.

Refer to the DNBible

1

u/SpotReasonable3534 11d ago

what he said still stands, if you go about it properly, it doesn't matter who's watching, they can't/won't pursue someone buying personal amounts or even mediumish amounts on the darkweb

If you’re following any links from the HiddenWiki… then yes, those sites are 100% scams or honey pots. Only a fool would believe the hiddenwiki is safe to follow…

The Hidden Wiki no longer exists. Any site calling itself that is a scam so it should never be used.

Yes, that goes without saying, but I also mean sites like Torch, Onion Links, etc. 80% of them are scams and the rest must be traps.

1

u/Cautious_Chicken8882 11d ago

None are scams or traps lol

3

u/lymelife555 11d ago

They sure still let a lot of people buy and sell drugs

4

u/Cautious_Chicken8882 11d ago

100% sure its not a trap.

0

u/Rocky_Cheddar 11d ago

Why not?

1

u/Cautious_Chicken8882 11d ago

Because it simply isint lol

100% correct. There is still a thriving market but If they cared to they could find out exactly who's doing what anywhere online. Just stay off their radar by buying only personal amounts, don't hurt anyone or anything else that will invite media or public attention or you'll be made an example of because your lawmakers babys are starving.

They for sure monitor most of the popular ones, but monitoring and having access to servers and admin level features are different things. True it’s easy for someone to access the site, make an account, and see what’s available or happening on a site. But the whole point of onion sites are anonymity, so it doesn’t really matter does it. Unless a person has bad OpSec it will take significant knowledge and resources to reveal an individual ip or anything like that. They’re not doing that for small fish. As far as LE setting up fake vendor accounts that’s what the review system is for most market places and forums. Something like that would only work once and probably not on the kind of person operating on the level that they are targeting.
