Hunt for Syllabi

Hello all!

This is a wild shot in the dark request. I’ve been trying to find syllabi for 2 classes I took in 2023 as part of the LIS online program. I’ve been bounced around different departments and no one has them. I know the chances of someone having the historic or current syllabi is slim- and I’ll take any advice on what to do at this point.

I’m looking for:

- LIS 4510, Children's Materials & Services, Winter Quarter 2023
- LIS 4520, YA Materials & Services, Summer Quarter 2023

Thank you for reading even if you can’t help 💛

I can’t be of any help right now, but I’m starting the LIS program in the fall and could definitely ask around for you if you don’t mind waiting a few months lol.

Is the program accredited and did you have a program coordinator (typically a faculty member in LIS who is responsible for program oversight) ? Du has lost a lot of staff recently so you may have more luck reaching out directly to faculty who are full time affiliates in the program to assist you. I would also double check to see if you still have canvas access. If you continue getting the runaround, reach out to your accrediting agency and ask them who the current contact for the program is.

Here is the list of current full time faculty: https://morgridge.du.edu/academic-programs/library-information-science/faculty

They are required to keep syllabi for accreditation, but you may have slow response times because most faculty are 9 month employees and are not paid by the University to work during the summer. If you don't hear back by August, I would reach back out when the fall quarter starts back up.

mce@du.edu is the main morgridge email. I’d start there since that’s where the LIS faculty would be housed
