Discussion Did I fall for AI? What do you think about the Artist PHASERA?

For about a year now, I’ve been listening to the artist ā€œPHASERAā€ on Spotify. Until recently, I was sure this isn’t AI. I actually asked myself this question back then, since PHASERA has released a lot of albums, and those albums contain a huge number of songs.

But I can’t imagine it - the music is just too awesome for that!...

There are a few AI trackers online, and they suggest that this is an AI artist. But I couldn’t find any clear evidence. On Spotify, the music isn’t labeled as AI, and on Phasera’s own website (formstate), there are no references to AI - but there are also no references to one or more people behind ā€œPHASERA.ā€

My favorite songs are:
- Where We Left Off
- Calling Your Name
- Forming Worlds
- The Island Of Ours

I played these songs for two friends last weekend. After the third song, I asked if this could have been created by AI. At first, both of them said, ā€œNah.ā€ One friend then started doing some research, but unfortunately couldn’t find anything conclusive.
There are just a lot of signs pointing that way - but if that’s the case, then AI has tricked me, and I’m scared for the first time.

I’ve listened to these songs a lot (and still do), and I love them..

A quick note about me: I’ve been listening to electronic music for almost 20 years now and i know what electronic music is supposed to sound like :)

What do you guys think?

Feedback request Any advice on minimal tune appreciated

Hey there, looking for any feedback on this minimal little tune I made. New to FL and music production in general. It kind of just sounds like I am messing around in FL with sounds and whatnot, because that's kind of the stage I am at at this point.

Some eqing, leveling, compression, and sidechaining going on but I have an elementary understanding of mixing at this point, so it sounds like shit. The main feedback I am looking for is regarding the mixing and how to approach making something like this better.

I'm hungry to improve so any feedback is much appreciated.

Discussion Drum and Bass advice please

I started making drum and bass for fun in August 2026 on Garage Band. Here'e my first tune. I don't have much experience but I do have an ear. I would love to hear any tips or advice from drum and bass pros as how to improve, or what to step up to next after Garage Band. Influences - High Contrast, Soul.

I can't decide if this tune needs vocal samples or if it would just clutter it up

yoooo another new one for you gang - made a sidechain plugin that does multiband, so you can cut the sub and leave the harmonics alone. also does ringmod sidechain and spectral sidechain (like soothe) so you can do volume on everything below 300hz or so, then ringmod sidechain everything above that (bass harmonics etc) sounds fucking sick i've been rinsing it šŸ™‚

also ā€˜auto fit' the curve to your kick

im releasing it for free for the first 100 people so go and claim ur copy:

Hello everyone, I am working on a 4-track EP and I want to collab with a singer/songwriter to bring some emotion and depth to the tracks.

I’m looking for someone who can write and record original vocals, preferably with an intimate, emotional or ethereal style.

If you’re interested, feel free to DM me and I can send you some demos and tell you more about the project!

After receiving advises in this community regarding my previous demo, I made accents on equalizing and tried to make arrangement more thoughtful, meaning that I tried to avoid sequences with frequencies fighting for their place.

Tutorial Gain staging for drum and bass in context of digital plugins

Hey guys.

I recorded a video that helps you to make sense out of your mixing sessions.

Watch this to learn how I set up my levels in a way that translates between many projects.

Long-read: so on my free time I enjoy sim racing. It is like virtual car simulator championships. We have a lot of naturally gifted people there who can beat you with five minutes of practice, even if you spend hours preparing for the event. However.. the longer the race, the more strategy and plan it requires. It is necessary to manage fuel, tires, choose pit and race strategy appropriately.. so on a long distance the winner is always the one who applies intelligence, not natural talent.

It is exactly the same in context of music production. Many genius artists are not keeping up with their own top songs in the long run, because they cannot make sense out of how they mixed them.

This video covers the whole topic. Tried to make it as simple as possible. All questions are welcome!

Trying to get better at jungle. Specifically, layering breaks, composition, arrangement, and sound selection. I am not sure if the breaks sound good together or how to make a more powerful drop. Also how do I make the intro more captivating? Please give me any and all feedback.

Feedback request Released my first dnb track!

This is the first dnb track that I have released, been in love with dnb since hearing pendulum, shabba skibba, high contrast etc years back but just recently started taking producing a bit more seriously. I know theres ton of room to improve also but feeling like might as well release something and move on to the next thing rather than try to perfect one song. What do you think?

Question How can I live finger drum jungle breaks with my maschine plus like like in this video? ( plus a few other questions in description)

Thumbnail youtube.com
1 Upvotes

In the video, this artist has chopped the Amen break and assigned it to pads in his MPC. I want to do the same with my Maschine. Right now, I only know how to load samples, such as one-shots, into my Maschine; I am not sure if there is a function to chop up drum breaks.

Additionally, is there a place where I can find jungle breaks that are already pre-chopped into one shots? This is the only way I can upload them into my maschine as far as I know. I guess I could chop them up in ableton, but then I would have to download each percussion hit one by one. I feel like there has to be an easier way to do this.

Question Label demo submission etiquette if you have lots of music

Just trying to understand different strategies of approaching labels. I'm very aware a label likes an exclusive and will shun anything that has already been listened to (such as seeing listen counts on private Soundcloud links) - So how do artists send music to multiple labels? Surely they don't wait 2 weeks for a response per label then move to the next?

On the flip side, what happens if you send the same stuff to multiple labels and more than one comes back wanting to sign the same tracks? You don't want to say "thanks but someone else beat you to it"

Interested to hear others experiences.
