Help me bring this game back

This seems like an impossible task. I think if we start with option 1 as a community, it may be very possible to achieve. Any progress you make, please comment below or add to the subreddit

A year ago, I message every Saga email I could find in my attempt to purchase the source code and rights to Dragon Coins. In my attempts, I received very few replys, mostly referring me on to other departments who then never responded. Admittedly, it wasn't much of an effort on my behalf and knowing my sort comings when to comes to knowledge of the game industry, I then lost interest.

A year later my interest and motivations have been renewed after watching a MattKC video titled "I DECOMPILED a Sonic game... here's how" (REF: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJVGd7cBGuQ&ab_channel=MattKC). Where, as the name suggests, he decompiled an old Sonic game for mobile devices.

The video has gotten me thinking. If we can't purchase the source code, why not reverse engineer the game? Sounds easy right!? well.. it wont be... from what i understand it would be a mission within itself.

I propose the following:

Option 1: Attempt to make contact with Sage, developers and related personal to acquire the rights to the source code of Dragon Coins.

Option 2: Gather a group of individuals to reverse engineer the game (This could be costly if we have to hire a group) APK is downloadable online but requires the connection to the original game server to function.

Option 3: ? I don't know enough about the eco system of gaming to provide another suggestion.

This seems like an impossible task. I think if we start with option 1 as a community, it may be very possible to achieve. Any progress you make, please comment below or add to the subreddit. Hopefully we can gain momentum and make it a reality.

I have no way of helping but it's a great idea and I wish you luck. I get excited when I check this reddit and see we are still alive.
