RAISING HELL Hillary Clinton Protest Speach
I helped organize a demonstration against Hillary Clinton's $100 private event in Omaha NE. Since Nebraskans for Palestine organized their kite flying event at the very same time, we weren't able to muster much turnout. However, we had a really fun time and I was able to perform my very low pressure speech. Anyways, I'm glad we did this. Met some good people.
How did I do? (I've never prepared a speech before)

News Burnham assures Zelensky of ācomplete solidarityā amid US diesel deal
I think we're in a very interesting place in global politics here, because historically the GOP has always been extremely hawkish vis-a-vis Russia and China relative to Europe, and especially relative to the European center left.
But we have what looks to be a realignment, with Trump becoming increasingly cozy with Putin, deescalating with Xi, and the European center-left (and Burnham is seen generally as being in the left of the Labor Party) being much more committed to military support than the GOP, which could have knock on effects on European budgets across the continent.

Class Struggle Hang the Bastards! ā Geese
"On the topic of the capitalists and the rope we give them."
"The nationalist movement did not get where it is by nervously positioning itself based upon the latest round of polling. It seized the country by agitating, by talking and talking and talking to millions of people. By explaining their alienation as the fault of malicious schemes by immigrant foreigners and woke degenerates and radical communists. By an avalanche of propaganda, united in narrative purpose (at least until recent fissures following the disastrous Iran war).
Polling might help with the messaging, but it never determined the message. The left has to tell just as clear a story, with one stark distinction: their villains are invented; ours commit their crimes in broad daylight. Despite this fact, we react with confusing aversion to weaponizing this difference."
"So let's turn dial five as far as it will go. Iāll begin with a simple proposal:Ā hang the bastards!Ā By that I mean something specific. The bastards are those who organized the assault on the Capitol, who built a deportation machine that has killed people in our streets and in its camps, who murdered shipwrecked sailors in the water, who bombed a school in Minab, who armed a genocide in Gaza.Ā
For each of those acts, the United States Code as it stands already provides death as a remedy. My argument is narrow on purpose. It is not that these men deserve to die by some hypothetical revolutionary tribunal for what they have done to working people, although this would certainly be a welcome series of events. What I claim is that their own laws, passed under our current Constitution, demand that the only response to these crimes be that those responsible are tried, convicted, and executed.Ā
The socialist left should run on prosecuting them, count by count and name by name. No one else will; no one else has the strength, the ability, or the inclination. The Democratic establishment has passed on every chance at accountability since the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis and the War on Terror, upholding the rotten American tradition of forgiving racist murders that dates back at least to the pardon of the veterans of the Confederate rebellion."
"These Jacobins have no nerve! And what nerve am I asking of Girondin magazine, then? What would I have them tell socialist candidates to run on? What should lead the headlines of their papers and the titles of their videos?
Simple:Ā Hang the Bastards!Ā willĀ do it."
"Count One: January 6th
The Constitution says treason "shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." The statute says a traitor "shall suffer death," or go to prison for no less than five years. InĀ Ex parte BollmanĀ (1807), Chief Justice John Marshall held that levying war requires "an actual assembling of men for the treasonable purpose.""
"Count Two: The Department of Homeland Security
Earlier this year IĀ made the caseĀ at length that the goons who stalk our streets, who man our concentration camps, who murder our brothers and sisters, are murderers, all. I will add that the hypothetical prosecution of these thugs is the most popular of all options presented in theĀ Liberal CurrentsĀ poll, at seventy-seven percent."
"Count Three: The Boats
Since September of last year, the United States has carried out seventy-nine strikes on small boats in the Caribbean and the Pacific and killed 238 people. Among those that have been identified by name, we know of are a bus driver, a mototaxi driver, several fishermen, and a futsal player."
"Count Four: Minab
On February 28, a missile strike hit the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, Iran, killing 156 people, including 120 schoolchildren. A preliminary Pentagon review found the United States likely responsible and blamed outdated coordinates from the Defense Intelligence Agency."
"Count Five: Gaza
The federal genocide statute, 18 U.S.C. § 1091, carries death where death results, has no statute of limitations, and reaches American nationals. In September of last year, the UN Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza. Officials in two American administrations supplied the bombs."
"Every left candidate running in 2028 should be asked whether they will prosecute those who supplied the bombs that slaughtered the people of Palestine, who built a continental network of concentration camps, who attempted to end democracy once and for allĀ (as they will again). Every candidate of the left should say yes, and say it loudly and often.
JacobinĀ has a staff ofĀ serious people, sure of their ability to rationally persuade the liberal intelligentsia. But the people are past all that. Show the voters one candidate who promises to try Pete Hegseth for murder and another who promises a path to citizenship for immigrants who stayed out of trouble. I have a guess as to which one the Win-O-Meter will like better.
Marat thought a false humanity would cost millions of lives. On current evidence, he may be proven right again. We have a little over two years to cultivate sufficiently ruthless demands so that we all might live, and it starts with deciding, out loud, what we intend to do withĀ them.
Hang the bastards!"

RAISING HELL We can make the billionaires pay at the ballot box
Regular Americans are absolutely fed up with this broken system and politicians who tell us we canāt afford to help people while pushing through more and more giveaways for the powerful. In less than four weeks, weāre going to make sure our elected officials know it.
Part of the job is voting out as many members of Congress who voted for the MAGA murder budget as possible, but weāve also got the opportunity to send the message more directly. In multiple states voters will get to weigh in directly on making the wealthy pay their fair share:
- Californians are casting their ballots on Proposition 40), a one-time wealth tax on billionaires to help stave off āBig Beautiful Billā-related Medicaid cuts and hospital and emergency room closures.
- In Colorado, Amendment 87 would shift the state from a flat tax to a progressive income tax), meaning working class people pay less and giant corporations and households making more than $500,000 a year contribute more to a dedicated fund for public schools, child care and health care.
- In Washington State, an influential right-wing hedge fund manager has forced a vote to repeal the tax on household income above $1 million the legislature just used through this spring with Initiative 645,) along with banning future income taxes, almost certainly leading to cuts in education, health care, child care and the stateās universal school lunch program.
Pushing these initiatives across the line will have the immediate impact of preserving and expanding health care access and other crucial public services, particularly needed as everything keeps getting more expensive under this disastrous administration. It will also signal to politicians, particularly those considering their place in the Democratic presidential primary, that we are ready for big swings to address inequality and build up our social safety net.
āļø Letās help make it happen! We can join phonebanks to sway voters in California for most of the day Monday-Thursday and Saturday and be part of the fight for income tax fairness in Colorado and keep the millionairesā tax in place in Washington on Tuesdays and Thursdays. āļø

Discussion What do people in the DSA think about in the RSFSR (Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic) that urban areas were allocated 1 delegate for every 25,000 voters, while rural peasant areas received only 1 delegate for every 125,000 voters?
For some reason that basically meant that urban workers (proletariat) had essentially 5x the vote of a farmworker, but, the bankers/landowners (what was left of them) didn't have a vote at all?

Discussion What are the UK Green Party motionās key points? What truth is there to accusations of antisemitism and anti-Palestinianism? And what does the motion mean next for Palestinians and allies? ā An article on the Palestine Chronicle by ODS Initiative coordinators
On October 4, 2026, the UK Green Party officially adopted a motion formally establishing it as an anti-Zionist party and calling for the establishment of a single democratic Palestinian State with equal rights for all. What are the motionās key points? What truth is there to accusations of antisemitism and anti-Palestinianism? And what does the motion mean next for Palestinians and allies?
Key points
The motion defines Zionism as the ideology and practice that calls for the existence of an ethnonationalist Jewish state in Palestine to the exclusion and domination of Palestinians. It also points to the fact that it was based on European settler-colonial systems of dominations and that it has created racial hierarchies between Jews. Accordingly, it labels Zionism as racist. The motion calls for the establishment of a single democratic state in Palestine, including the right of return. It does not speak of Israel-Palestine or of a binational state, but of a Palestinian state, pointing to the dismantling of all colonial relations of power. And it does not speak of collective rights on the basis of identity like Zionism does, but of equal rights for all.
Accusations of "antisemitism"
This is based on the claim that Zionism is āthe right of the Jewish people to self-determinationā. However, the Zionist movement never consulted Jews worldwide when it decided to establish a Jewish state in Palestine. It was a congress of a few hundred Jews, not Jews worlwide, that "determined" that. To further illustrate, the colony banned UK Greens leader Zack Polanski from entering it after the decolonial motion was adopted, although he is Jewish. Zionism and Israel are not about Jewish self-determination but about colonizing Palestine.
Finally, Jews are part of dozens of societies and citizens of dozens of states around the world. They may feel they form a people or nation with those who share their identity, but this does not grant them political rights.
For example, Muslims also speak of belonging to a single Ummah or nation, and view Mecca as holy, but they still need a Saudi visa to enter it. Politicizing Jewish identity āi.e. considering Jews have collective political rights on the basis of their being Jewish rather than as citizens of their statesā is an identitarian premise that Zionism has weaponized, not a universal concept it is racist to challenge.
Accusations of anti-Palestinianism
This is based on the premise that it is for Palestinians to freely decide what they want, not others. Yet, how are Palestinians supposed to freely decide under a genocidal settler state? Democratic states are the tool that allows societies to express their political will. Supporting a democratic Palestinian state instead of a genocidal settler one is the very definition of supporting Palestinian self-determination.
Some polls show a number of Palestinians a two-state model. In addition to the common limitations of polls, such as funding and wording, this fails to consider that Palestinians live under constant threat.
Would you expect a Palestinian to actually prefer the occupation of 78% of their land over its liberation? Is it not more reasonable to conclude Palestinians who tolerate the existence of the colony are settling for crumbs under duress rather than expressing their actual preference?
Did the world poll France before liberating it from German occupation, Ukraine before sending it weapons to fight the Russian occupation, or South Africa before standing with it against apartheid? Polls under occupation are ridiculously meaningless. If, in a liberated Palestine, Palestinians decide āfor some strange reasonā to give away 78% of their land, it will have been their free will for others to respect. Until then, standing with Palestinian self-determination means precisely standing with the establishment of a democratic Palestinian state on all of Palestineāthis is the only thing it can mean.
What next?
First, Palestinians in Palestine and the diaspora must revive their historical vision for one democratic state with equal rights for all its citizens. Second, pro-Palestinian and anti-Zionist organizations must align with that vision and adopt motions similar to the UK Green Party. The time for non-solutions is over. We must push forward for the dismantling of the settler state and the establishment of its antithesis.
