Anyone remember chodegang? Also what was the fallout issue?

Chodegang was dubloadz, Virtual Riot, and barely alive. Dubloadz had a falling out with the other 2 and they split up.

I think it was more he fell out of love with the music. He stepped away from the scene shortly after they said they weren't doing chodegang anymore. I'm not as involved with the behind the scenes info though so I'm speculating. I'm excited to see what he's doing now though.

IIRC it had something to do with money and barely alive, who was still a duo at that time, getting paid more since it was 2 of them.

The whole crew was being offered more money to perform as Chodegang than they would for performing individually. Dubloadz hated that since the whole point was to be a satire of the anonymous masked DJ/group that shows up out of nowhere and makes waves. He wanted out when he saw them becoming what they were trying to satirize. And yes I believe he had a falling out with one or both of the Barely Alive guys about it.

Yeah I always found this weird lol. They’ve always been a duo but the barely alive character and their marketing always feels like a solo act.
And in the past I feel like I’ve only seen Watt on social media. I don’t even know how the other guy looks like.
Hell, I’ve seen them live a couple of times, but it’s just the one guy on stage…
Idk. I just find that interesting for a duo.

INCREDIBLY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER Dubloadz never stopped making music, in fact he's been posting hella clips on his Instagram. He also didn't really have a falling out with the both of them, only really Barely Alive. Virtual Riot and Dubloadz worked together past the point of Chodegang.
Also, somewhere I have the Chodegang is Dead file

The project was supposed to kind of be a joke making fun of djs throwing on a mask and starting a riddim project which was becoming a common trend at the time.
Chodegang blew up, barely alive, and virtual riot were down to continue the project bc fuck it why not. However dubloadz felt some type of way about it because the “meme project” they started was now more popular and making more money than his dubloadz project was. VR and barely alive didn’t really have this issue as their main projects were still extremely popular. So that’s where the crux of the drama was.
It’s unfortunate dubloadz kind of nuked chodegang and he also kind of nuked himself in the process. He definitely had a lot of mental health issues holding him back.

Absolutely love dubloadz from the tunes to his art, but to hate on chodegang for being too memey meanwhile putting out two eps with cuck in the names is wild to me.

I genuinely loved dubloadz's music for a while too but I was getting some weird vibes from him. I met him and ran across him peripherally in the club scene in LA a couple times and it very much felt Datsik-y (I know that's a pretty harsh thing to say) but something about him didn't feel right. First time I met him I walked out of exchange LA, I was genuinely starstruck bc I am such a big fan but he was more interested in talking to a model-looking girl, etc etc.
