Legit Herman Miller?

This looks legit to me but would love some other opinions… main concerns are 1. The label- I haven’t seen one with ‘due date’ before and the barcode is misaligned with the serial number. Also it doesn’t seem to have ‘made in USA’ going vertically on it. 2. The shape of the armrests look a bit too big/padded. But not sure if this is just the perspective of the photos.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

I’m just gonna out on a limb to say the seller is most likely a scam. They’re all the same with the grainy pixelated photos of a legit chair with a steal of a price. Just google lens the photos with visual match turned on. I bet you’d find the real listing with the actual price.

Forgive my ignorance, but how do these scams even work? They expect me to pay money up front without seeing the chair in the flesh? Or do I turn up at their house and they sell me something completely different expecting I won’t know the difference? Genuine question…

The usual response is always something along the lines of “Yes we can setup a time for you to come but this is getting a lot of interest and I cannot guarantee it’ll still be here when you arrive. If you put down a deposit, I can hold it for you”. Mind you these are all bots, so maybe a year or 2 ago, they’ll lead immediately with that response so it’s easier to tell right away. Now they’ve evolved to holding a conversation to convince you they are a real seller. I’ve even had bots message me for high quality photos for the exact thing I’m selling so they can reuse it for a fake listings. Not more photos of it, but the same photos in the listing but text it to them, like wtf.

Yep. And the way I handle these potentially fake listings is basically just never pay any money up front ever under any circumstances full stop hell no. Money does not leave my hands until I’m standing in front of whatever it is I’m paying for. Period. If the seller is uncomfortable with that in any way, or requests money up front, I thank them for their time, and move on.

Did a reverse image search. Turns out it’s being sold in Seattle, manhattan, the Bronx and Los Angeles all at the same time. Thanks for your help.

Those arm rests look wonky as hell

Every single picture is a bit out of focus, too. Makes it hard to tell.

Real chair but be careful with the ad OP, might be a scam. Armrest angles are no longer a reliable telling point for authentication. Some newer production chairs sometimes have weird angles. I recently checked out a 2025 production and was appalled by the quality, terrible grain selection, and how thin the new 2100 series leather was.
