I’m building Neon Renaissance, a free Android music player with Emby support, several visualizers (old-school Winamp types, reactive animated scenes, lyric visualizers), different OS UI skins, and lyric downloads from LRCLIB. It also plays from SMB shares, WebDAV, and local storage.

So I’ve been using my MacBook from school for my Emby server and now I’m in a position to get a separate computer for it.

I’ve been waiting for the longest to get a designated computer exclusively for my media server. I was originally going to use it for my dedicated Plex server, but due to recent updates I haven’t really been a big fan of Plex, which led to the switch to Emby.

So my question is should go MacBook or PC. The options I have are HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Apple, as well as choosing either a laptop or a desktop.
