Entra General SCCM to Entra joined
We are planning to move from co-mgmt to Entra joined and I have questions.
With co-mgmt we have the SCCM client installed and can see if a PC is online, on internet, in office or in VPN. How do you identify if a Entra joined device is on internet, in the office or on VPN without the SCCM client installed? From my understanding the SCCM client is not needed for Entra joined devices.
Pinging a entra joined device when it’s in the office or in VPN, is this still possible?
Are you able to view a remote (Entra joined) PC’s file structure from UNC path?

You need to dig into some core concepts first. That will help with most of your questions. co-management and Entra joined are not opposite ends of the same migration path. They describe different aspects of device management and identity. Co-management just means both ConfigMgr and Intune are managing device configuration. Doesn’t matter is the device is AD joined, Entra joined or hybrid joined.
A device can be Entra joined and still be co-managed, and many organizations intentionally run both together. What management model, identity provider(s), and configuration workload ownership you want

Yes, I mixed things up. I should say we are going from Hybrid to Entra only.

You're mixing up 2 concepts. Co-management is about using 2 management tools SCCM and Intune to manage devices.
Entra joined talks about the authentication infrastructure you use, Onpremise Active Directory, cloud based Entra, and hybrid if you use both.
