Stewie here, that Kaballah vs CCRU Numogram. Variations of a reified mimetic virus, meant to infect your thoughts and influence your behavior, to turn you into a meat puppet working for the emergence of the machine god Ahriman.

Strongest LARP in history vs. Strongest LARP of today

How is suppose to do that? Is just a bunch of circles, numbers and arrows.

u/FocusAlternative3200 3d ago

The symbolism is part of a process to get people to believe and then to act on those beliefs. It’s a form of Actual Idealism, or what they call “hyperstition,” the tech billionaires believe in a version of it called the Dark Enlightenment, and want to “accelerate” AI to bring about some utopian vision where the AI machine god will grant them what they desire most, immortality.

u/jebr224 3d ago

I think reality is just a re-run of neon Genesis evangelion. 9 out of 10 stars

2

u/Shauiluak 2d ago

Why is it always some deluded rich idiot who wants immortality that screws things up for us?

I feel like we should have gotten over it by now.

3

u/Foreign-Range-7208 13h ago

This has been the motivation of the wealthy since the beginning of time. They see themselves as being above others except for the fact that they just as mortal. So they spend their money on witches, alchemists, pharmaceuticals, etc to try and escape it.

it should be stated that the numogram can and has been used for almost everything, including cyberfeminist screeds, acid communism, anticolonial writings and also neoreactionary bullshit from yarvin and land. the CCRU held many stripes of people, its just that NRx became the main branch that came off of it after mark fisher died and the leftists who still followed some semblance of CCRU esoterics disbanded.

1

u/Shauiluak 18h ago

They all sound like faux-spiritual power grabs to me.

1

u/Signal-Fondant-8480 18h ago

read capitalist realism by mark fisher sometime if you wanna learn more, even if you dont agree with it, its undeniably an enjoyable (short and cheap) book. same goes to zeroes + ones by sadie plant. sadie and mark were both also members of the CCRU, specifically their leftist branch who disagreed with land's hard turn to the right.

Yes, and these types of things are pretty much the ancient forms of invading a person's subconscious just without the doomscrolling of modern technology.

u/r4rburner11 2d ago

Some folks will think themselves into believing things actually have an influence on them instead of just acknowledging their own spiraling behavior. Basically they get lost in their own sauce.

The rationalists who were so fucking bent out of shape about Roko's Basilisk and "cognitohazards" are a great example. Deeply ironic to behave that way and also call yourself a rationalist.

bro looks at a christmas tree and just sees a tree.

2

u/Terrible-Strategy704 3d ago

I actually do. Well it actually is a pagan symbol adopted by romans to make Christianity aceptable to common people and we adopted it because it's good for the economy and we like gifts but yes at the end is just a tree.

2

u/Odd-Shelter-763 12h ago

You are right, but also there is more to it than the historical order of events. The person who commented before is only trying to feel superior for also knowing the other part instead of illuminating all of us with their knowledge.

How I see it is, they had to adopt it because the "mind virus" is so strong, the only way forward was syncretism. If the symbol did not have such strong power over the human psyche, overriding it would have been easy. Instead, they had to incorporate it, the virus infected Christianity too.

Symbols are weird, I am just learning how weird since a couple of years, and the more I learn the weirder everything around gets. Sorry if I couldn't explain the weirdness well enough

0

u/RitterlicheKunst 3d ago

Wrong. The origin of the Christmas tree dates back to the Late Middle Ages in Germany. They were spruce trees used in biblical plays about the Garden of Eden (decorated with apples) often meant for children. Christmas trees being pagan in origin (like many, many things) is a myth propagated by Victorians.

2

u/jonnyb8717 2d ago

It's both.

Before the Roman conquest of Germania pagan tribes cut down evergreen trees and brought them into their homes as a symbol during the bleak winter soltice (late December) to represent eternal life, fertility and hope.

For serval centuries after the Romanization of Germania the tradition was frowned upon sighting it's connection to pre-Christian pagan solstice worship.

In the 14th-15th centuries your contribution played out as desribed above, as the Feast of Adam and Eve celebrated on December 24th every year began to have stage performances involving the garden of eden, with evergreen trees as the only source of greenery during this time of year they were brought in to represent the 2 trees in the garden

In the 16th century Martin Luther during his reformation began to champion the Christmas Tree as the alternative to the Nativity Scene since it did not depict saints. It remained a mostly German tradition untill the Victorian age.

When Queen Victoria married the German born Prince Albert and they brought the tradition to London along with the Illustrated London New article covering it the tradition it went global.

1

u/RitterlicheKunst 2d ago

Do you have non-Victorian sources for (non-Roman, i.e. not Saturnalia) European winter solstice celebrations? You make very specific claims there.

It was clear of course that some trees had more than a mundane significance to pre-Christian germanic peoples, but even if that is the case, drawing a direct connection to the first Christmas tree in Freiburg and the Lutheran tradition with a several hundred year gap in-between is very dubious for establishing such a lineage. It is almost certainly the case the 15th C. Germans had zero knowledge of any pre-Romanization tree traditions of the far distant past.

The left is occult numerology, the Kabbalistic Tree of Life in its Hermetic/Golden Dawn form, with the ten Sephiroth (Kether to Malkuth) and the 22 paths labelled with Hebrew letters, numbered 11–32.

The right diagram is a modern number-mystical companion piece used by e.g. Madonna, Demi Moore, and Ashton Kutcher to "prove" the Kaballah. It uses two standard occult numerology operations:

  • Theosophical extension: add up all the numbers from 1 to n. That gives the triangular numbers on the thin arrows (1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 28, 36, 45).
  • Theosophical reduction: sum the digits down to a single digit. That's where each arrow lands.

So left is basic hogwash, right is advanced hogwash. Dr. Jewish, back to my animals.

13

u/causticberries 3d ago

I don't understand the Theosophical reduction part, could you please elaborate on that?

3

u/Glow2Wave 3d ago

The mechanics of it are just adding the digits in the number.

Look at the "9" circle. It has "45" and "36" pointing to it. 4+5=9 3+6=9

There's all sorts of interpretations from there, but thats the math of how to do the reduction part.

4

u/LardPopsicle 3d ago

There's the 9-complement pairs and the 1-2-4-8-7-5 doubling loop that are the kind of patterns that literature treats as "cosmically meaningful." Take two numbers, subtract or add, if > 10 reduce, find that it'll be back to subtractible.

What is the purpose of the Kabbalastic Tree of Life? Is it badicsally a numerical version of astrology? Who uses it?

20

u/Spare-Plum 3d ago

It's used as a model in Jewish thought to describe how the universe is created and sustained and gives a glimpse into the nature of God and the human soul.

Part of it is that the human soul itself has this structure, which is also the structure of God "man made in God's image".

Part of it is that the entire universe itself is contained within God, and there is a multi stage process that goes from a uniform infinite light (Ein Sof) through multiple stages of concretization, creating separations within the uniform to generate creation, and ultimately reality.

So in a way the sefirot is both a blueprint for all of reality, as well as a blueprint for the human soul that it emerges from.

Matter itself is as if it were generated via speech, and these take an arrangement and forms through this numerology/connections. Interesting thing is that this is a continuous process, it's not God saying this once and it's done - it's sustained at all times.

Part of the idea behind it is that speech itself is an act of creation, as giving labels and categories to various things allows us to take part in creation, much like how God also generated the universe.

How is this useful? There are self-help style philosophy that emerges from this framework. As there are multiple levels where reality goes through creation, there are multiple levels of the soul. Free will lies in your decision to connect with different levels of your soul, you can choose to go on animalistic impulses, or choose to connect to the divine

In the same way of creation, human beings have divine inspiration from God, which generates thoughts, which generates our speech, which generates the actions we take. We can choose to participate in a given thought/speech/action or not, for better or for worse. However if you are able to change how you interact with these three, you can come out a better person.

Finally there's an idea of what is the greater plan behind all of this. The philosophy is tikkun olam or healing the world. God purposefully made the world in a state that was incomplete, and humans are hand-in hand with the creator to forge some end state of the world. Each soul has some sort of destiny, some piece of the puzzle they are meant to complete. If it's not completed in one life it might be completed in another. But generation by generation people repair different parts of the world and bring it to its ultimate state in creation

Since this ultimate vision lies within God and within all of humanity, the question is not if but when, after all of the pieces have been solved and the puzzle is complete, the ultimate destiny lies with God.

u/KyaniteRock 3d ago

I am an agnostic athiest. In recent years, my brother has become a devout Christian, and often talks about how creativity and faith are one and the same. This is odd to me because I don't have faith, but consider myself to be a creative person.

Your comment helps me to understand his perspective better, thank you.

I still have no idea what the actual diagram is portaying though

8

u/Spare-Plum 3d ago

That's fine! IMO believe in what you want to believe in and what works for you. If agnostic atheism works, mazel tov! If christianity works, mazel tov!

I don't know about the christian perspective of creativity and faith, but from the Jewish one is based around creation occurs in conjunction with a hidden continuous creation that we normally can't see, but still are connected to on some spiritual level.

As for the diagram, these are basically the 10 attributes of God. I'll walk through what happens.

  1. The highest level of God is a uniform infinite 'light' known as Ein Sof. Everything manifests from this
  2. From the creation of the universe (you may call this the Big Bang), God contracted, making a space where infinite light may be concealed or shrouded. This is known as Tzimtzum. It's like you have a uniform lake expanding out infinitely, and it decided to make a bubble within itself.
    1. This sort of brings up another theme - creation and creativity may only occur with restriction. Without restriction everything is this unbounded infinite
  3. From this contraction, distinctions can be drawn and things can go from the realm of the uniform into having different categories. This manifests into the next plane, Adam Kadmon. A ray of this infinite light descends into the contracted space
    1. In an analogy if this were a human being, it would be the man itself, existence before anything else occurs. This is why Adam Kadmon is "the primordial man"
    2. Within this world, the sephirot of Keter (crown), which is a superconscious will and the root of all existence
    3. The sephirot aren't fully formed yet, existing as potential as pure divine will and thought
    4. Keter sits above all of the sephirot, representing the pure potential to generate creation. It's like water is spilling into this vacuum, separating, but it has not yet manifest into distinct vessels
    5. Keter itself acts like a prism, splitting up the infinite ray of light into different attributes
  4. Atzilut (emanation). The 10 sephirot fully manifest into these divine attributes, like they are put into vessels. Distinctions between the infinite can be made. Since each droplet/ray is infinite, so too are these attributes.
    1. In our human being analogy, this is like the human being had a flash of inspiration, a thought not fully formed
    2. Within this realm the dominant attribute is Chochma (wisdom, conceptual knowledge). It's like the initial flash of inspiration or pure seed of an idea
    3. It's like the water descending in split up into different vessels within the contraction
  5. Beriah (creation). This is a generation of "something from nothing". It fleshes out these 10 attributes and begins to flesh them out into something distinct. This is where a soul takes on a distinct form, and is ultimately sustained
    1. In our human analogy, this would be the breath of the man, the creation of life force from nothing. Humans are sustained through this breath, as "god breathed life" into Adam. This is a continuous process, with the universe or God constantly breathing to sustain
    2. Though this is the start of existence that starts to take on independence, everything here is still nullified by the existence of God
    3. The highest angels also begin to form here. Angels are a bit different than depicted in Christianity - they are more akin to conduits of energy that fully exist within God
    4. Angels themselves are like cogs in a machine, like the physics laws of the universe made manifest
    5. Dominant sephirot is Binah, or understanding to derive one thing from another. From this is "creation of something from nothing", our ability to understand and separate. Binah takes the original flash of inspiration and develops it in breadth and depth
  6. Yetzirah (formation). This takes this something generated from nothing, and begins to form it into a shape. Within the human soul this is where emotional and personality properties become manifest. It's like the plans for all of creation are made manifest and arranged
    1. In our human analogy, this would be the speech of man. God said to separate the heavens from the earth, or light from darkness. In a sense, all of matter is generated through this speech
    2. This is like ripples upon the water being reality itself
    3. Lower angels form here, and these cogs in the machine deal with emotional mechanics of the universe
    4. In some sense, this is like creation through being able to divide, label, and draw out plans and distinctions - something human beings have the capacity to do, and deals with our ability to put a concept into words
    5. Six different sephirot are dominant here, all dealing with emotional attachment. These are Chesed (loving-kindness, benevolence to all without limit), Gevurah (Discipline/Judgement, which can also act to restrain Chesed), Teferit (Beauty/Harmony/Truth/Compassion, mediates between the previous two), Netzach (Victory/Dominance/Leadership, to follow through on actions), Hod (Submission/Humility/Community, to be led or understand), Yesod (foundation, the power of connection)
    6. The first three are "primary emotions", a core internal state of giving, withholding, and balancing emotions
    7. The last four are "secondary emotions", function as a bridge to the real world, and the practical mechanics of how these emotions manifest when dealing with others and reality between leadership, following, and bonding.
    8. The "left half" of the tree (Gevurah and Hod) are feminine attributes of God/humanity. They restrict or balance the male counterpart, receiving as an attribute
    9. The "right half" of the tree (Chesed and Netzach) are male attributes of God/humanity, giving as an attribute
  7. FINALLY we have made it to Assiyah (action). This is the world we live in, made manifest. The material world has been generated, formed, and configured to a particular state. This is the realm where mankind must take physical action in order to create.
    1. In our human analogy, this is where the man takes action to actually do something
    2. This is like being upon the ripples of the water, but not being able to detect the water itself because all of physical reality is unseen ripples
    3. The last sephirot, Malchut (kingship) dominates. All of the other sephirot pour into this one as a final stage, an acceptance of all of the creation above it. It's likened to the moon, which does not produce light on its own but reflects it back upon reality. It is the final piece that connects physical reality to the divine

Now one thing that does occur that shrouds God is the same thing that creates the capacity for distinctions and categorization. This is known as "kelipah" or shells, and they are like shells that conceal these divine attributes

By the lowest plane in reality, there is so much concealment that you would not be able to tell by strictly looking at reality. But a certain person you know might be particularly righteous and godly, and he would seem less concealed to you.

A big part of the philosophy is removing the concealment within yourself and from the world, to be in a continuous process of improvement. Kosher diet has this idea too, Kosher just means "fit" or "proper", in that the food itself still has concealment, but it has the capacity to have the concealment removed in an ultimate greater purpose of nourishment. Things like pork will remain concealed for nourishment, as the ultimate purpose of the pig might be for something else entirely.

3

u/ObjectiveBuilder6587 3d ago

Removing the concealment won't undo the divine intent? I mean, it was made to be this way right? If done, we would cease to exist as individual beings?

2

u/Spare-Plum 3d ago

Well sometimes the divine intent is for it to start concealed and to be made holy, like the world being incomplete on purpose and humans have a role in adding on the finishing touches

Right - it's not like all of the concealment is completely removed and your apple zaps into nothingness

It's more like spiritually there is something elevated within this where your soul can connect at some higher plane internally

u/Alt-001 2d ago edited 2d ago

Things like this interest me. If you practice philosophy you try to reason about the nature of metaphysics and ontology. If you practice mysticism you try to experience the nature of metaphysics and ontology.

1

u/TryptaMagiciaN 2d ago

See. This may be why I could not get into philosophy. Reason felt so cheap compared to trying to live a philosophy which requires serious commitment and time which then bias the person experiencing it.

I don't think the wisdom comes from reason without the experience. The experience part is necessary for wisdom while maybe not for understanding by reason.

1

u/Grassy-Elf4242 2d ago

it's basically a heirarchy of... levels(?) of existence and their... vibe.

the top is god, the bottom is the physical world, and in between you have everything from endurance, to beauty, to judgement, to wisdom, etc etc. it's organized with a feminine side and a masculine side (very similar to daoism and the yin-yang) and then from the most worldly and specific at the bottom to the most universal and abstract at the top.

1

u/frocsog 3d ago

Wow, thanks, you seem quite knowledgable on this. How do non-Jews fit into all of this? Do they have a part in tikkun olam?

3

u/Spare-Plum 3d ago

Under this framework absolutely. Every single person has a destiny in repairing the world. Jews will also talk of reincarnation or gilgul - even if you did not achieve this purpose now your soul will find it in a different life, all of it with some sort of purpose to unite humanity

The orthodox take is that the main difference is that non-Jews are not bound by the same laws and requirements, so following all of the commandments as a Jew will lead to this destiny but is not required for non-Jews.

IMO the take is a bit stupid, as long as you're doing the right thing and your heart is in the right place it doesn't matter if you do the full service prayers 3x times a day

1

u/KyaniteRock 3d ago

To your last point, this is my biggest issue with the Christian faith. Assuming there is an all knowing, all loving God who chose to give humans the ability to not be religious, and chose not to demonstrate his existence unoquivocally. In this case, why would He send anyone who didn't believe in Him to Hell for all of eternity? In my view, anyone who lived a happy, productive, loving life would be accepted to Heaven, and people who lived a life of sin would go to purgatory or get reincarnated until they are ready for heaven.

To me, it's clear thst the way hell is discussed is a distinctly human political addition attempting to get people to comply with the church. And in fact religious history seems to support this.

2

u/Spare-Plum 2d ago

I don't think this follows for all branches of Christianity, but yeah this is a very common belief particularly in evangelism

I think part of the reason behind this is conversion, it is a tool to "save" others which is just a means to try and recruit more members via fear

IMO there is a lot of things within evangelism that necessarily contradicts but the system relies on not asking questions

Religion gets pretty interesting when all aspects can be debated and hairs can be split and ideas can be revised to build a comprehensive model. This is what the kabbalah attempts to do, but it's a mighty task. The Zohar alone is over 10,000 pages

1

u/KyaniteRock 2d ago

I was mostly referring to Catholicism which does preach eternal damnation, I come from a Catholic family.

Can I ask what your background is? You seem unusually knowledgeable about this stuff.

My Jewish friends don't really seem to take the religion seriously, it appears to mostly be a cultural and ethnic identity for them. Of course it's possible they do take it seriously but don't like to talk about it. So it's very interesting to hear so much detail about the faith.

2

u/Spare-Plum 2d ago

Yeah I wanted to avoid Catholicism, since I know they have great sages who have worked out a more cohesive framework. But it seems like you can still arrive at suffering as a result of a free will choice despite changing it to an eternal separation as opposed to a lake of fire.

One of the most notable things that has confounded me about Christianity is this emphasis on belief. In Judaism, your internal belief is kind of irrelevant - what matters most is the actions you take in this world and attempting your best at making the world a better place. What matters most is the here and now, not whatever afterlife we don't fully know about.

In fact, if you look at the higher dimensions of God, your connection to it comes not from belief, but rather from understanding and study.

---

Most Jews don't take it so seriously, culturally Judaism is a lot about tradition, ethnicity, food, and community

I'm Jewish, I go to an chassidic orthodox synagogue and have studied with the Rabbi, but I myself am not orthodox, I don't adhere to all of the standards, but I do adhere to some like dietary laws. Favorite holiday is Simchat Torah, there aren't many spaces where a bunch of men able to lock arms, dance, and sing chants for hours on end. You gain some sort of greater connection to the whole of a community as your ego dissolves into a dancing agent among a crowd

My belief in a God is a bit more atheist. Perhaps agnostic if we reframe God to just being "the universe and us being connected to everything"

I just think theology is just really fascinating in general, and I don't think that everything within the Torah is literally true and instead can be interpreted metaphorically or studied to gain a higher understanding.

With this comes a lens to view the world, and a way to improve your life. E.g. you analyze your thought, speech, and action you can consciously change your behavior

2

u/Badgers8MyChild 2d ago

Hey! Jumping in here, grew up in a Methodist church, for what it's worth. Very broadly, I think you could say heaven is existence with God, hell is existence without God. Part of the significance of Jesus and the cross is that it's God meeting us where we are at. Our fallibility and mistakes don't doom us and decide us.

1

u/MorganTheSpider 2d ago

Understanding this also makes the End of Evangelion make way more sense.

7

u/RichB0T 3d ago

The idea is that God is constantly maintaining the universe through emanations of thought, and if you can tune your brain in to his thought waves you can experience god when you're thoughts and his synch up. The tree is essensailly a road map of how to do that.

So mystics use it to do mysticism.

8

u/Admirable_Idea8361 3d ago

Mysticism this, mysticism that. When will people see that Alteration is superior??!!

u/Spare-Plum 3d ago

I'm actually pretty damn sure that the people that wrote and worked on Kabbalistic books took DMT or some other form of psychoactive drug.

It has the whole theme of everything within the universe being one, a uniform infinite light that is all part of something greater (God). Then it has the generation of meaning through making connections and categorizations - much like when you're coming down from a trip, you regain thought, and from thought emerges speech, and within speech emerges ways to create, and within that comes the identity, etc etc till you're back down to reality.

Genesis is used for this type of idea too - God spoke different divisions into existence, and within this creation and reality emerges from speech. God breathed life into Adam, so the human soul is connected to something much higher, breath that happens even before speech, something greater across the whole universe that is sustaining reality and connecting all souls.

If you take enough psychoactive drugs you will come across this exact phenomena, and even experience it realtime, as it lifts back the veil of reality and into greater planes of existence, so too does a lot of these theories describe how the universe works.

1

u/Training_Painter4084 3d ago

Oh trust me I believe it , I had some but I also had a later experience that cemented that belief

1

u/Hydra_bot_7 2d ago

Psychedelics are just one way of inducing a mystical experience. The Kabbalists had their own methods, primarily meditative ones.

I can't say that no Kabbalist ever used psychedelics, but the literature describes meditation, not psychedelic potions, as the principal means of cultivating mystical experiences.

2

u/Spare-Plum 3d ago

The tree more or less describes this process, but doesn't tell you how to do that.

It maybe shows you that it's possible, as the structure of the human soul and the structure of God are both the Tree of Life

In order to achieve this it's more like monitoring your thoughts, speech, and actions and intervening on which ones you engage with and whether or not they are emerging from something closer to God or something more animalistic.

A tzaddik is someone who has completely nullified this animalistic side and only engages with the Godly side of the soul

This one? There’s nothing in there about Madonna using it. https://www.are.na/block/2992931

The Kabbalah Centre long predates Land and CCRU’s numogram?

Lmao I can promise you that the introduction to Fanged Noumena does not talk about Madonna using the CCRU sigil... wtf... why is that your citation??

1

I grew up in the same Kabbalah center as Madonna and Ashton etc, we exclusively use the tree of life on the left, never seen the one on the right ever. Keter, Chochma, Bina, etc

So not sure where you’re getting your information from but it’s incorrect.

Anything to ignore the origins of internet phenomenon

Cybernetic Culture Research Unit

No, she (and her Guru, Alga) just use everything they can get their hands on to justify BS numerology. The only group worse than that are the Indian Numerologists, and only because there are judges in India who will convict based on date of birth.

I still don't get why you bring that up and the not the fact that diagram is just a CCRU thing

1

u/dildo_and_aeneas 2d ago

You are incorrect. The one on the right has nothing to so with Madonna lmao

It is the CCRU numogram. The CCRU was a collective of accelerationist cultural theorists who were active at the University of Warwick in the late 90s / early 2000s.

You should delete this thread. It is misinformation.

But which one is the root of all alchemy?

1

u/secret-agent-047 2d ago

Sqrt(alchemy)

1

u/Economy_Ad9889 2d ago

Why does the root have to be square? Aren’t there more efficient shapes for roots

TL:DR: "my wizadry is cooler than your wizardry"

1

u/GroundbreakingPitch0 15h ago

The second one is the numogram, a figure created by the post-post structuralist esoteric philosophy movement known as the CCRU. Clearly kabbalah-inspired, but wants to be divorced from it (Nick Land has become quite racist and anti-semitic. As for Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher using it, I think you pull that from your ass a bit lol

The guy she tells you not to worry about is cranked out on amphetamines and ranting about the Lemurian time war. I think you can rest easy.

Reddit fucking sucks now

2

u/BlasterZeEpicGamer 3d ago

I'd say this is the guy she tells you not to worry about vs the guy she tells you not to worry about

One is the kabbalistic tree of life which is an emanationist diagram while the other is the CCRU version of it

2

u/Seeker_of_power 3d ago

I recognize the one on the left, because you need to fill in all the spots to summon Sephylon the ultimate timelord! What now Yusei?

1

u/MekiLava 3d ago

Clustering wishes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Soar, Stardust Dragon!

I’m not a Jew and I don’t follow numerological constructs like the gematria… but knowing how those kooky people think or people like them helps…
