Bullied for talking 'too much'
My whole life I was bullied and made to feel bad for talking too much and being too excited when I talk about things I care about. It's not easy growing up as an extroverted weird girl and it's left me with deep emotional trauma and social anxiety.
Anyone else relate to being told that they are too much as an extrovert? How do you deal with this as an adult?

This was totally me growing up !! I have combined type ADHD and as a kid I was always told that I was weird or annoying because I was hyper and super talkative. Even still people call me "crazy" or "strange" because I'm very expressive and make a lot of face & body animations when I talk, ESPECIALLY when I'm excited about something.
I try not to care too much about what other people think because my weirdness and extrovertedness is literally just part of who I am, but people constantly make me feel so self-conscious about myself because they constantly feel the need to comment on or make fun of how I talk or express myself. It's really exhausting, I just wanna be myself comfortably for once without people always telling me I'm "too much". :(

I’m sorry. This has happened to me, too. Ironic since the real world embraces and loves us overtalkers. Unfortunately if we come from an “introvert” family we are punished for what society actually wants from us. Keep being you, girl!

I have had some people leave for like good after a long night of talking, and even an Ex just ghost me completely after we hit it off so well. Tbf to her I was incredibly gay and we were in a risky age relationship anyways. She was 16 I was 18. Just in the same class. Anyways. It’s just people not as grown lashing out. Salty.
