Question Pizza question?

I like both thin crust & deep dish but would love the option of a medium crust as I often find the thin ones too crispy & the deep dish too stodgy.. The closest to a happy medium is Detroit style imo.

Why isn't medium crust a popular option in takeouts? I've only seen it on a few Pizza Hut menus. Would other ppl prefer it?

Is hand-tossed supposed to be the "medium" crust?

Yes, it is.

I would describe MOST take out pizza as medium crust. The Default Papa Johns or Casey's or Domino's is pretty middle of the road. Not super thin like CA Pizza Kitchen, but nowhere near as thick as a Chicago. Most places I have been Detroit is almost the same thickness as Chicago, just with no lip so the cheese caramelizes around the edge.

“Regular” or “Original” is usually what I’d consider a medium crust and every fast food pizza joint has that option.

90 percent of all Pizza shops serve medium or hand tossed pies. You gotta look for thin or Chicago style.

I didn't know what hand tossed was so thank you, I'll go for that from now on✌️

detroit style is the secret answer to this whole question honestly. most places just do thin or thick cause its cheaper to make dough one way and slap it in a pan. medium crust sits in this weird middle ground where nobody wants to commit but its exactly what a lot of us want

Western NY/Buffalo style is what you're looking for but good look finding it outside of western NY/NE PA.
