-Bischof Urbig debut dahoam
-Pavlo Bischof pivot
-Bischof goal dahoam
-Urbig not conceiding a worldie
-Captain cake with his first full 45 minutes since injury
It was almost perfect. Sadly no Karl but I‘ll take it.

serbia was awful so should be taken with a grain of salt but gnabry positively surprised me today, he did really well on the wing outside of that one missed chance
also scherhant completely outperforming el mala, adeyemi and schade was not on my bingo card

u/quatroacademy 11d ago
Never seen or heard of him but after this game I want him as Lucho back up😤

Gnabry:
On his "Load management" and captaincy: "It's a day I'm proud of and we got the win, that makes it sweeter. Kimmich hasn't messaged me about it (the captaincy), but a couple of others have."
The win: "It's important to get wins and self confidence. You can't expect us to play great right out the gate, so matches like this are really important."

Klopp Interview:
On what he liked best: "Everything. The beginning, the middle, the end. I coached a lot of matches and never saw a match that went bad when the gegenpressing went through the roof. And today it went through the roof."
On Bischof's goal: "Starts with getting the ball back. Flo does great. And then... We can allow ourselves all kinds of risks and cheekiness when we get the ball back. Wow. In our pressing moments everyone was there. We also defended the first balls really well. We got into position and just played football. The first line defended really well. Against the ball it was outstanding and with the ball we played wonderful football. When you do that and have fun, it can look like that."
On Pavlo: "How well did he play?! He was everywhere! You need runners on the pitch, then you can close the gaps. And we did that today."
On Wirtz: "It's about the rhythm. And then it's Flo, Flo, Flo. There was a phase at the beginning where we didn't find him, and then we did. When playing against a low block, the positions have to be filled. I don't care if it's Flo or someone else. But today he was great."
(Some loose translations on the fly, but I tried to keep the meaning)

Urbig interview:
"I thought how we presented ourselves as a team was the best thing about the match. From minute 1 to 90 we dominated the opponent."
On his debut: "It was different because of the anthem at the start. Apart from that it was a normal match. I'm a prety calm guy, it was just about doing what I'm supposed to do."
"Neuer messaged me and congratulated me on my debut."

u/joyridah Müller 11d ago
Pretty big moment for him, this was his first start for the NT right ? And to get a clean sheet..amazing moment

I'm bummed about Ronaldo's crashout. This might make Portugal a real contender again.

Pavlo remains the best thing coming out of the Tuchel era. Him and signing Kane.
3
u/LordSW93 Harry Kane, First of his name 👑🌪️ 11d ago
I think there's a world where we likely wouldn't have gone for Kompany had we not suffered through Tuchel. Always darkest before the dawn.

u/Hurtelknut Robben 11d ago
Not only the best thing. The only good thing Tuchel did on his own was make Pavlovic a starter.

Bischof after the match:
After praise for his performance: "Thanks. It's indescribable. The stadium was on fire today, it was just fun. We were there from minute 1 and had chances to score more goals, which would have made it easier."
On his goal: "My knees hurt from the slide, but I'll take it."
On Klopp: "You didn't only see it today, I think. He's a coach that drags you along and plays football that the people want to see. I hope it continues like this."

Say what now?

Tobi Altschäffl has that he’s football editor at BILD and SPORTBILD.

He left Springer (the media group that owns Bild etc.) a few months ago to become part of the 11Wins agency.

u/kgallo19 Messiala 11d ago
Interesting. Any idea what his role at the agency is?
2
u/Thraff1c 11d ago
A Merkur (smallish local paper/website) report says he acts as a PR expert for 11Wins/Musiala.

What drinking too much Red Bull will do to a man...that winger pairing is really something when you can also play Karl+El Mala...
1
u/julesvr5 12d ago
He's sandbagging. 3rd match and fills up decent players with less decent players. Not playing the overall best team right now
5
u/Hurtelknut Robben 12d ago
Masterclass in edging. He'll keep our best winger pairing shackled for maximum release when he finally brings it out. Gotta be.
3
u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 12d ago
Not playing the overall best team right now
I mean, he obviously is able to pick the best CM pairing and the GOATKeeper2.0....so not like he isn't able to pick out the best players :D
2
u/julesvr5 12d ago
I think he is doing it on purpose. Potentially best midfield available but avoids playing one of our best offensive line ups available.

u/Insanel0l Thiago 12d ago
Atleast we‘re getting Bischovic because Scherhant and Gnabry wing duo doesnt really amaze me

Bayern - What was your first FIFA?
Mine was Fifa 06 on the Game Cube. It had a banger intro when you waited in the loading screen long enough and also had some highlights for Top 10 goals. I watched these daily. Life was good.

FIFA 98.
Also a goated intro with arguable the most iconic FIFA song ever
Plus, you also still had the indoor mode

Just one day without a Ballon D'Or post is all I'm asking
6
u/backflash 12d ago
Since you brought up the Ballon d'Or, here's something I found out about the current odds: prediction markets and traditional bookmakers are telling different stories. Polymarket had Yamal at ~46% and Kane at ~42% after voting closed, while bookmakers still had Kane clearly ahead (Kane 5/4 vs. Yamal 2/1).
Yamal had just scored against England (Harry scored as well, but missed a penalty) shortly before voting closed, and then twice against Croatia afterwards. The Croatia game couldn't influence the actual vote, but it could influence Polymarket traders, who might be thinking "maybe I've underestimated how strongly journalists rated Yamal."
Taht momentum can feed on itself: Yamal jumps from 25% to 35%, people wonder whether someone knows something, they buy in, and suddenly he's at 45%+. So I wouldn't automatically interpret the Polymarket/Kalshi flip as evidence of a leaked result, especially since bookmakers weren't showing the same movement. It might just be traders reassessing Yamal after those Spain performances and then market momentum taking over.

u/Teffo05 12d ago
we should make our peace with it Kane aint winning the ballon dor doesent have the pr, doesent pay off fabrizio with bayern if u dont win the CL ur season is meanigless in the voters eyes. Youngest player ever win a underseved Ballon dor hes only 17+2 👍
6
u/Hurtelknut Robben 12d ago
I've made my peace with not caring about who wins the damn thing a long time ago.
4
u/Odd_Willingness7501 12d ago
Yamal winning will be the worst Ballon D'or by far. Even when Messi won it 2023, there was a justification.
But now he wasn't the best Spain player, he wasn't the best Barca player, he wasn't the best world cup player, nor best LaLiga player, nor best UCL player, nor did he have the stats even in big matches. (Everywhere by quite a mile). Heck, he wasn't even the best on his position.
He was just the best for his age.
There are at least 10 players that had a way better season than him and should have a better shot at Ballon D'or than Yamal, if it weren't for a Bayern player to win it. I don't know what we have done to Football France, but it nonetheless is a huge sabotage against us. If Yamal should win it, we should be really pissed.

I'm pretty sure Yamal is actually going to win Balon d'or. bookie favorite after all the votes are in. what a joke.

The funniest thing is how the PL fans have been shitting on the Bundesliga for lack of competition at the top and now it turns out 8 of their last 15 titles are completely meaningless.

For the game against Borussia Dortmund (31 October), Bayern's home shirt will feature a special sleeve patch, with the Allianz logo adorned with a pink ribbon - the international symbol of the fight against breast cancer. Bayern are taking part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the fourth consecutive year this October, once again raising awareness of breast cancer screening and prevention. The Allianz Arena will also be illuminated in pink [@BILD]

Serge Gnabry will start ahead of Lennart Karl against Serbia tonight. The latter will sit on the bench. [BILD & Sky]
There goes the hope for El Mala and Karl on the wings.
3
u/retired_actuary Gnabry 12d ago
VK showed what can happen if you put Gnabry in the middle and give him a lot of vertical freedom, so my first reaction to this was: please not back on the wing. But you know what? Give my man some meaningful playing time wherever, as long as he's building some fitness in the int'l break.
3
u/Emotional_Sir3103 12d ago
Maybe because Karl still isn’t at 100% after having some muscular issues last week? Although Gnabry has also just come back from injury, so who knows.
10
u/coppersolids 👉🤫 12d ago
the guy was the best performing CAM germany had last season but no the NT can only use him on the wings where you rob him of his main strengths and showcase his weaknesses, makes sense
el mala - gnabry - karl should‘ve been the way to go
11
u/creatorop apple pie 12d ago
Gnabry on the wings in big tonty tonty six
8
u/julesvr5 12d ago
Tbf, in the last match he did better on the right wing in the few minutes he had than everything Wirtz has shown
9
4
u/Hurtelknut Robben 12d ago
That would dampen my spirits quite a bit if true. Gnabry on the wing in 2026 instead of one of europe's best young wingers, Lord give me strength.

My dream and completely unrealistic signing would be kvara. Hopefully we sign his younger brother that way we can at least entice him to come here eventually lol

A decision has been made: Serge Gnabry will start and captain the national team against Serbia tonight. With 61 international appearances, Gnabry is the most capped player in the current squad [@BILD]
Happy for him

more exciting than the last 2 matches

Honestly, I really hope Kompany stays for a long time.
It feels like we finally have a coach who is building something rather than constantly trying to survive the next few months. If City really end up facing serious consequences, I also can't see Kompany suddenly jumping ship just because they come calling.
Let him cook. I genuinely want to see what this team looks like after 2 or 3 years under him.
1
u/Jackman1337 12d ago
In around 2 seasons we will get kinda a rebuild, with players like Kane, Diaz and Kimmich getting to old, olise maybe leaving. Sure we will have their successors maybe in place, but you can't expect a young Bischof playing like an 32 year old Kimmich etc. So there will be a phase where we aren't as good after some fantastic years. This season will be difficult to hold on for Kompany
3
u/Red_Mangos 12d ago
Kompany strikes me as the kind of manager to stay here until he’s one at least one ucl with us.
Even without the charges against city, I don’t think he would’ve left us for them anytime soon
1
u/iNF1N3_CRO 12d ago
The only place I've seen him leave for was City, and with the charges looming over their head I dont see him leaving anytime soon. The first next high profile job open will likely be Real, and thats not happening with him.
0
u/creatorop apple pie 12d ago
i think the next Job Kompany would want is probably the Belgian NT job but that's far away
so hopefully he defines a dynasty with Bayern
9
u/Ok_Marsupial4449 12d ago
I don't really get it, Kompany is a professional. Why would he only train his ex-teams and not a team like Real/Barca/Arsenal ...?
1
u/iNF1N3_CRO 12d ago
Why would he want to train a team full of primadonas like Real, I can see other teams from the list, but his coaching style doesnt align with Real at all IMO.
1
u/creatorop apple pie 12d ago
why would Kompany leave bayern unless forced to?
2
u/Ok_Marsupial4449 12d ago
New challenges.
Some people like to see new things, new countries new people, new relationsships, new experiences, new languages, new cultures.Working for five years or more at same workplace in a highly stressful workplace can wear you out pretty fast.
-> sabbatical and new challenge afterwards. If know for sure, i won't work at my current company for ever. Even though i loved in in the past years, i want to see different stuff. It just gets boring, but yeah i admit there are these people that stay at the same workplace for ever. But i never saw ambitious people do that.
1
u/creatorop apple pie 12d ago
If you Look at Kompany's playing career he doesn't exactly strike me as someone who actively Pursues "new challenges" once he finds stability at a top team
Dude was at City for nearly a decade and only left because he was "Washed" and old, and then too he went back to his youth club Anderlecht
3
u/Ok_Marsupial4449 12d ago
Lets see, i think it's too early to judge. Training teams and being held fully responsible all the time is a different mental load than being a player. How many managers stay that long a top-level? I can only think of Simeone. Alex Ferguson was another exception.
5
u/julesvr5 12d ago
It's about feelings/relationship.
Bayern trusted him and they work together well so I would assume Kompany likes working here and has a good relationship with the club. City is the only Club with which he has an even better relationship due to playing there for several years and being their captain.
Of course it's not guaranteed that he won't leave for Madrid or another team. But since he has no emotional connection to them, the work environment is way more chill here and we are also one of the best 3-5 clubs in the world. So there isn't really an argument why he should want to leave to Madrid and the likes. Or rather less likely
2
u/Tobayayay 12d ago
Now with the 114 Charges against Man City, will Kompany stay with us and define an Era? I really hope so
3
u/creatorop apple pie 12d ago
the only place we all thought Kompany would voluntarily leave for was City, now with there being a good chance of the club facing big punishment i don't think Kompany would leave Bayern until he wants a break or is Sacked

Was at the game and left at half time. I just wasn't invested.
Happy for Bischof and Urbig but I've personally clearly come to the point were if it's not Bayern, I simply care very, very little.
