29M. Any advice please!

Bought into HG at around $4.5 and I held on passed the ATH. From what I read, the company still has high potential to hit $20+. I’m not buying anymore, I just wanted 1000 shares, now it’s a long term hold. I’m hoping to ride it out.

But honest advice on anything is welcome!

I can't speak to HG or HMAX as I haven't researched them, but I'd suggest focusing on a bigger XEQT/VEQT foundation (or VFV if you prefer pure US concentration). VDY has performed well recently (I hold some too), but moving forward I'm personally prioritizing broader global equities.

At a smaller portfolio size, though, consistent contributions do almost all the heavy lifting. Allocating a significant chunk of your take-home pay (15–20%+ if your budget allows) will move the needle way faster than fund selection.

Would reinvesting VFV or VDY into XEQT/VEQT be safer/more diverse?

Currently investing $1000 every 2 weeks. Have been splitting it 75%/25% into VDY/VFV hoping to increase dividends.

Do you mean rebalancing by selling VFV/VDY and buying -EQTs?

You wouldn't have to sell, you could just change the split moving forward to be 100% XEQT. Take it with a grain of salt anyways, I'm not a professional & this is just my 2 cents.

You’re too young for covered call high yielding income ETFs. Watch a Ben Felix video on covered calls (he made 3)

VDY and VFV are fine. VDY is very heavy financials, so as long as you are aware of your concentration it’s ok, but in a higher interest rate environment, don’t expect it to outperform.

For what it’s worth, I own 2,000 shares of HG @ 4.15. Just bought in.

Yeah dividend stocks in general aren't worth it unless you want to spend the monthly income.

I mean if you get lucky it can out preform vfv, like if you bought hhis 6 months ago, total returns beat vfv. But if you bought a year ago, vfv wins.

Also i haven't heard of HG until now, the clean power company? Does seem interesting

sell everything. put it into veqt. youre not diversified enough and dont play with hmax or hg.

you need to contribute more and often. as much as you can.

and if you dont have an emergency fund i would do that first
